  • Did not have to worry about bringing water to animals
Kept water thawed

  • Great value and works perfectly
The waterer heater has worked perfectly so far this winter. We've had several days of the temps going down to around 20 degrees Fahrenheit. I use a plastic 5 gallon waterer and the water has yet to freeze. The coop heater seems to be doing its job as well. I installed it inside the coop attached to one of the side walls. While it's not going to heat the coop like some type of forced air heater, it does appear to be heating it just enough to keep it from being bitterly cold inside. We had a few inches of snow last night. The side of the coop that has the heater installed actually kept the snow melted on that side of the roof. It honestly surprised me when I saw that this morning. Again, it's not going to be blazing warm, but is more than sufficient for chickens. I've never had a chicken die from the cold, only from extreme heat. In the cold of winter, egg production definitely slows though. So far, this seems to be helping with egg production. I also like how you can set this to however many hours that you want it to operate (or continuous) and at any of three temperature settings. I do have mine running on the highest temperature for twelve hours, starting at 7:00 pm, and automatically shutting off at 7:00 am. We will see how it holds up, but for now, it is definitely a good value for the money spent on it. ... show more

  • Good heater but too large to fit inside my coop
Looks very well made but cannot fit in my very small chickem coop....it would be nice to find a smaller footprint to fit small coops. Musy return

  • Spoiling them means eggs through the cold weather!
Yes. I spoil my chickens. I live in Kansas and it gets brutally cold! My chickens didn't miss a beat! They layed all through the winter, and it's just about over! The timer encourages your chickens to get out and about during the day, and it runs while they roost! I did also get one to put in where they lay their eggs but they still went to roost instead of staying in their boxes. ... show more

  • Value
Excellent heating and freeze-prevention performance. My flock stayed healthy all winter long. Easy to set up and simple to use. A must-have product for any serious keeper. Both devices have a thermostat, making them energy-efficient and worry-free. I no longer have to run out to the coop in the middle of the night to check. ... show more

  • Great
This product has exceeded all my expectations. The build quality feels robust and durable, like it will last for many winters. For any keeper who values efficiency and quality, this is a worthwhile investment.
