This works perfectly for kittens, and was easy to assemble within a few minutes. My cat had 5 kittens. She can jump in and out, but the kittens are still too small, and won't be able to jump over for quite some time. This works well to to contain them until they're old enough for new homes. I would have preferred the look of the metal "cage"-like pet playpen, and it might hold up longer especially if used outside, but I think the kittens would be able to climb out very soon. The plastic works great to contain animals that climb. Each of the 12 panels has a sturdy black wire frame that snaps securely into the connectors The package included a small wood hammer, and plenty of zip ties, but those items are not needed. If you were using this for puppies or a small dog, you might need the zip ties. The plastic style doesn't come with a mat. I purchased one separately, and then covered it with smaller blue "puppy pads" to make cleanup easier.

I was skeptical at first, I found it difficult to believe that this would be sturdy enough for what I needed, but I was quite wrong! I purchased two of this with the intent of building a budget bird cage for my incoming new pigeon. His name is Caligula. I was looking through amazon and various other retailers to find a ready made indoor dwelling for him, but everything that was within a reasonable budget was far too small for a medium-sized bird, or reviews would describe them as flimsy. The very nice ones with ample room and access were quite costly, nearly 3 times the cost of the setup I made here. I purchased two of the product this review is for, as well as one of the only clear enclosure made by the same producer (can be found on this product page by looking through the different sizes), and I was able to make this, surprisingly sturdy, and rather spacious enclosure for Caligula. The assembly was easy, it took about two hours. The final product was very solid, but still light enough weight that I am able to move it about by myself for cleaning or whatnot. I did not end up using the floor covering, it didn't fit with my final setup, which, to be fair, WAS NOT the manufacturers intended use. The final height ended up being about 4 feet high and once all of the fastenings were in place it remained rigid and stable on top of a table.

Great pen/cage for my guinea pigs. Love just about everything about this and so do the piggies. Also used it for baby rabbits exercise pen. Pros : Love that I can add panels and adapt this to different needs. Can be assembled, unassembled and stored as one small pack of panels. Having the one wire panel is awesome. It’s very flimsy compared to a normal cage but is perfect for using a regular water bottle. Cons : The things that could be improved are: The plastic panels stain quickly. The little black connectors come apart easily. Needs many extra parts (=$$$) to make it fully functional. Like cage liner, floor mats, pee pads, extra panels for top cover (if needed), etc. Plus all your usual toys, hideaways, feeders etc. In spite of the cons, this pen has enough pros and variety of uses that I would buy it again.

Easy to put together and very customizable. I was able to build a huge play area for my baby bunnys using the panels. The plastic panels keep everything contained and clean, and the included zip ties make it super sturdy. Great quality for the price!

I did not put the roof on it yet, I just got baby ducks and chicks. This is perfect for the outdoor pen. Ten baby birds fit well in here with water/food. The easiest thing ive ever put together. I like the barrier on the liner, deff helps these little ones stay safe inside. The cage walls are definitely meant for a more gentle animal, I would recommend this to someone with first time baby ducks and chicks as well. Unsure of rabbits or more rodent pets. The walls are a little more flimsy but I also imagine you can put the roof as a floor for a more solid floor if you do not need a roof. I have a screened in porch so this was a perfect purchase to give these babies “outdoor time” I would not put this in the yard though, my opinion.

Easy assembly, comes with zip ties to double secure if needed. The plastic panels are strong, the metal is sturdy, and the versatility is great. It’s easy to move even when securely assembled. The height is perfect for a medium sized house cat. I chose this configuration so I could easily place my cat in via the top. It does have a little gate but that isn’t super secure so I have that blocked with the wall. I wish it did come with one more panel but I put a kid gate on top and that’s fine for me. Side note, stakes bought separate to secure to ground.
