Both mine and my wifes bikes are step-through. Unfortunately, this means that when it comes to bike carriers, some do not accommodate step-through bikes as easily. This is where these adaptors come in useful. The simply attach to the font yolk post and the saddle post and... viola! Your E-bike now has a top tube cross-bar, that the rack can now attach to! We already have one of these made by another supplier that works really well. But we needed 2, so we ordered this one, because the price really perked our interest. We wanted to see if the more expensive adaptor we bought, had any major advantages over this less expensive one. This particular adapter is made in a similar format to a sprung loaded shower pole system. Simple but effective. It does not have the build strength of our more expensive model, but in its intended format, it is plenty sufficient to complete the task for which it is intended. The quality of the materials used are not quite as good either, but they have managed to make this adaptor so that it still looks half decent and will perform its task reliably and well. This adaptor does what it is intended to do, without any of the unnessessary frills and dollars, of the more expensive one. Cons? Well the only one that I can see, may be the non-rubberized retaining pin, potentially rubbing against the yolk-post, due to the vibration of the journey? But we shall see. The other minor concern is that our bikes may slightly exceed the stated "maximum" bike-weight that is advised of 70lbs. Most modern e-bikes these days are over that limit. We intend to do a 1500 mile road trip in the summer using these adaptors, so if either fail to live up to their task reliably, then I will jump back on and update this review.
