It seems that different unit has different timings. For my unit, I have to keep the last press longer about 1 minute for its programming to complete. Anything less does not work. Some of the newer remotes may have an additional step with a PROGRAM button hidden in the back of the remote under the visor clip. Basically the buttons are “blank” and you need to get a signal assigned before the opener can learn it. When you get your product, lift and slide the visor clip out and check if there is a “program” button. If so, you need to do an additional step as so: - click the opener unit’s learn button - using the visor clip, press your remotes program button, a solid red light will come on the front of the remote. - press and hold the remote button until your opener light bulb flashes. (Your blank button has a code now, and the light bulb flash indicates the opener learned it). - press a DIFFERENT remote button to turn off programming mode on the garage remote. The remote now has an programmed signal on the button you chose, and that specific signal has been learned by the opener. Test it out by clicking the remote button you programmed. ... show more

I did not realize the first part of the instructions are for the remote, not the opener. Once I figured that out it took less than a minute to get it working. I feel the directions could be a little more explicit

Opening it up, the small instruction card makes it seem either too simple, or incredible understated. But with the help of YouTube, I just clicked the remote after pressing the pair on the opener, and the opener flashed just like they said it would. All in all I probably fought getting the clip on for 3 times longer than pairing took. Great product. Double check you have compatible parts and it won’t let you down. ... show more

These remotes are super easy to program and they work everytime. It is nice to have a backup remote takes the worry away if you misplace one. We have a large roll up shop door and multiple vehicles that all need their own remote.
