I essentially never leave Amazon product reviews, however my experience with the product and the seller was so good, that I felt the need to share. I live in a single family house which has two 2-car garages, each of which has a double wide heavy roll up garage door with glass windows. The original electric garage door openers were Liftmaster 3800 jackshaft units, which have performed reasonably well for over 10 years. However recently they seemed to be struggling, even with the door being properly balanced. I knew it was time to replace the openers. I was comfortable in the Liftmaster product world, so I did research on a replacement. Liftmaster recently re-engineered their jackshaft openers, and now everything up to and including the model 8800 is end of life. The current new technology replacement (released June 2023) is this 98022 unit. This has a much improved DC motor, better logic board and electronics, built in battery backup, a better wall mounted control pad with digital display, and finally gets rid of the terrible problematic cable tension monitor system. I found the best price here from Ace Garage Door (located in Florida), but before I ordered 2 new units, I had some questions. I contacted the seller through the Amazon system, and received immediate, prompt, and thorough replies, even at odd hours and over the weekend. The seller even sent backup documents for me to read. I was more than satisfied, and ordered 2 units. These shipped promptly, however note that because these have battery backups, the units must ship ground from the Amazon fulfillment center (Prime doesn't get you any faster shipping). The units did however arrive as fast as expected and intact. The included instructions and parts were thorough, and as I had familiarity with a prior Liftmaster jack shaft system, deinstallation of the old systems and installation of the new ones was pretty straightforward. The new 98022 systems are way better than the old AC technology and logic. Smooth, fast, quiet operation. The setup process is much better, with easy programming of your cable drum size and door weight, and then setup of upper and lower limits, and automated setting of forces required for your door. The new included wireless LED ceiling light is really bright, and now I don't have any RF interference from the replacement LED bulbs I had in the old ceiling light system. I was able to deinstall my old separate add-on myQ unit, as these openers have built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and myQ. With the myQ app on your smartphone, you get control from anywhere, as well as excellent data and diagnostics. Overall I am very pleased with the openers and with the seller.

I love this opener and will install it again next time I need a garage door opener. Easy to install, quiet, smooth. I open my 16' garage door a dozen times a day moving cars in and out to be worked on in my auto shop and this thing hasn't missed a beat. So much easier to install than those flimsy chain drive units. Love, love, love it! You won't be disappointed!

Pretty easy to install after having done a high lift kit upgrade. The remote ceiling light is WAY nicer than the traditional one bulb opener lights. It's pretty much silent and strong. My garage door is 275lbs (hurricane door) and is being lifted about 10 ft. I already have MYq and some extra remotes so those weren't a problem. This replaced a older liftmaster chain/straight pull opener system. My wife really likes the automated deadbolt for security. It's the loudest part of the entire system. The floor IR sensors were sooo much easier to install than the bigger older kind.

I purchased and installed two Liftmaster 98022 units. They are extremely easy to install - much easier than I was expecting. The kit includes amble lengths of cable for the sensors and lock. I didn't measure the cables, but one of my doors is 19' wide x 11' tall and the furthest sensor's cable was sufficient length. All the components appear high quality. These are EXTREMELY QUIET openers! Everyone who's visited has commented on how quiet they are. The only thing I wish was different is the speed. It opens and closes normal, but with 11' tall garage doors I wish they were faster. For all I know there might be a speed setting and I simply missed it. I was concentrating on the physical installation. I've been using them daily for 10 days now an everything is excellent. I will update this review if I encounter any problems or observations in the future.

You can do this! I purchased this garage door opener to update our out dated opener, and saw how quiet this one was, I installed it myself, fairly easy DIY and I love how quiet this opener is. Installing the opener took 10 min, the wiring and lock maybe 45min.

Trash. Easy to install. Worked fine. Then it didn't. Gave errors in the app. I reset the door travel. Then today it started giving errors again. After 24 times being used. I called LiftMaster. They told me the errors 'probably' indicated a motor failure. After three weeks. I could 'try' re-seating a module inside. I'm pretty handy and fix computers for a living, but I'm not opening up something brand new on the off chance that it 'might' fix it. Now I have to remove this, pack it up and send it back. For $715 this thing should've lasted longer than three weeks. I'm utterly disgusted.

LOVE IT. So quiet. Same speed as chain openers, but with a whisper instead of a rattle. Needed help by phone, but chamberlain service was GREAT. Super knowledgable and short wait time. Flawless operation for about 8 months.
