Description

Garage door opener Skyline ATR-1611 has a powerful ½ HPF motor which provides extremely quiet operation. This garage door opener includes a built-in 12W LED for long-lasting illumination, push button, one button remote control with rolling code technology, chain drive system and 7Ft sectional rail. This garage door opener also features a soft-start and soft-stop function to reduce wear and tear on the motor and mechanical parts. Backup battery [sold separately] with a built-in LED light keeps garage door opener functional in the event of a power outage. You can also use your in-car garage door remote to control this garage door opener. For added security, the AT-1611 includes rolling code technology that generates a unique code for every remote activation. This encrypted code is different from the previous one which prevents your neighbor accidently opening your garage door when using their Skyline remote. Package includes: 1 x garage door opener main unit 1 x one button remote control 1 x chain drive system with rail assembly 1 x safety infrared sensor 1 x push button 1 x installation instructions/user manual 1 x all mounting hardware.

I've had this garage door opener for just about a month, so far it's been running well. When I first opened the box, I was surprised by how small the unit is and wondered whether this is strong enough to open my garage door, a 2-car garage. The installation was not too bad, took me and my buddy about 3.5 hours, including removing the old unit and putting this one up. The online installation video is very helpful, we didn’t look at the manual much and mainly followed the installation video on Youtube. One thing that really surprise me is how quiet it runs. The older unit was a Chamberlain chain drive and I was expecting something similar, but with this Skylink opener, I could barely hear the motor, I now hear the noise coming from the rollers, hinges. Built-in LED is good, no lamp cover and that means no need to replace the bulb, I hope the LED lasts as long as the opener. It is not as bight as the Chamberlain which as 2 light bulbs, but it is decent enough. The programming is simple, seems it does everything automatically, I just need to follow the display on the side of the unit to set the travel limits and that’s all. The remote can be learned to Homelink in my Toyota, which is good. Also bought the keypad so my kids don't need to carry a remote control. Really like this opener. It arrived quick. Had good instructions and even a video which was helpful. Took 4 or 5 hours to put up and program but had to take down old opener and I am 74 and a little unsteady on ladder. Will probably get another for other garage door and think I can probably get everything done in 1 to 2 hours quicker. I've had this product for over a year now and overall it has served me well, and still works fine. The good. 1. Quiet 2. Door movement doesn't start with a jerk 3. Not too difficult to install. The bad. 1. The controller for the external wall push button switch is sensitive to switch bounce. Don't know about their supplied switch as I used the one already installed in the wall. A single push often registers as two pushes, causing the opener not to respond. Trivial bug that could easily be fixed with a software or hardware debounce circuit in the controller. Very annoying! 2. Wireless remote is proprietary. This issue can be circumvented by buying aftermarket external wireless receivers, such as MegaCode, that connect to the wall push button connections, then you can use your stock of legacy wireless remotes. 3. Mechanical interference issue. The multi-section chain bar is not rigid enough. It tended to bow outward slightly when chain was tensioned. When opening the door this caused the traveler to snag against the front of the chain where it connects to the cable, as they passed each other, causing the door to reverse. This issue was addressed by adjusting the chain tension, which resolved the issue 99.9% of the time. Our garage door is old and heavy, but this tiny DC-motor opener opens it very easily while keeping a constant speed. Only when it closes the door, it seems to slow down before the door hits the ground. The assembly was easy, requiring very few screws. In fact, the help video was outdated as the model I received had even less assembly steps and needed less screws. The only step that I struggled with was the attachment of the steel-wire to the bike-chain. I had to open up the tention part, which will later pull the two edges together, to the very end of its travel and use every little extender that came with the product. But the best thing is how easy it is to train the opener to the right force up and down, as well as the two travel end points. It is basically completely automatic. With the old (2011) opener that i have on another garage door, it took me hours to tinker with the four force and stop limits turn-knobs after adding a thicker rubber piece at the bottom of the door, leading to a new close position. Finally, it is quiet, and has a very bright LED light in it. By far the best garage opener that I ever saw on the market, and at a relatively very low price! ... show more

The opener unit is small and quiet, so far (2 days) it works well. The tacky little remote failed right away, the button jammed under the case, which left it sending and screwed up the door. Taking the remote apart fixed the problem but there is no way we will use it again.
