Replaced an older chain driven opener with this. If you are somewhat handy you can install this yourself. There are videos on the interweb showing how to install. I had to run electric wiring and rerun the push button opener wires which was the most difficult part of the install. This opener is wonderful - quiet, smooth opening and closing, and takes up far less room. Would strongly recommend. I called Chamberlain customer service with some questions and they were quite helpful....

We love this opener. My garage is under my living room and the old opener was vibrate through the entire house. This one is super quiet and doesn't wake my wife up if I open it when she is sleeping. I love the locking mechanism and the app is really cool. I can open and close my garage from my phone. I installed it myself on my room up 5 panel wood door. The door is heavy and I just used the setting when I installed it without any issues. It was a little difficult hooking it up to WIFI and I had to call the phone number to have them walk me through. I think most manufacturers slip in something to make you call in so you register thete product. Overall we really like the side mount opener and the APP.

This direct drive opener is incredible. It is virtually noiseless and was a breeze to install. I took my time to make sure I knew what I was getting into. The manufacturer is very specific about the requirements for this solution to work at your site - the availability of power, the projection of the turning rod, and the condition of the door and springs fit the bill. It was harder removing the malfunctioning old traditional opener than getting this one installed. It is not heavy and was easy to attach to the turning rod. The documentation that comes with the unit does not have the specific installation instructions, but there is youtube video and an app that contain step by step instructions, and it certainly wasn't rocket science. I did not install the deadbolt because I was more interested in just getting the thing to work, but I will do that at a later time. Overall, the unit performs very well, and the MyQ functionality is very convenient and helpful. Overall, a very happy camper.

My detached garage has overhead doors that are just a few inches below the ceiling when opened, so a traditional garage door opener is not an option. This wall mount opener is perfect for this type of situation. The opener was fairly easy to install, but I did remove 1 star because it does not include a printed instruction manual. You have to download an app and use the instructions in the app. Honestly its a pain to have to use your phone to follow the instructions. And the instructions really weren't as detailed as they should have been. I found myself questioning which screw I should be using many times, as the instructions may tell you the type of screw (10-32) but they don't tell you the length of the screw which would be the easiest way for the typical DIYer to identify them. The instructions also missed a step, they have you disengage the opener using the cord but they never tell you to re-engage it. I did find a good Youtube video about the installation that I also used in conjunction with the app. Once installed the opener works great. It is super quiet. I really didn't think I would use the app to control it, but it is nice that each of my family members can use the app to open close as necessary without additional remotes.

I have had one of these installed and running for a while, and I decided to buy two more for my other doors. I have had zero issues out of the original purchase. If you are somewhat handy, the installation is quite simple. A couple of good YouTube videos are out there for those who run into issues. I've read through the reviews, and I'll say, don't read too far into the negative ones. When I placed my order, one didn't arrive, but a replacement was delivered the next day. The replacement was defective and out of the box, with a faulty travel module, but Amazon Customer Service took excellent care of me. I love the ceiling space I created; it gives me more storage space above my doors. I also love that it doesn't place so much strain on the top panel of the door like with traditional trolley drive openers. You can trust this company, as Chamberlain, Liftmaster, and Craftsman door openers are all made by the same folks. I will finish with this: if your door isn't correctly balanced, meaning if you lift it manually and it doesn't stay put in any position, do not try to adjust the door spring if you do not possess the proper tools and knowledge. You risk being seriously injured. Call a qualified technician to do that for you. I had to adjust mine, but I've been doing this for a while.
