Who would’ve thought foam sea turtles would completely change the hot tub experience. I struggled to keep my tub clear and foam free for quite awhile. To the point where I just accepted a little cloudiness and foam. Got these as a Christmas gift from my daughter. She just got them in a whim not really knowing what they do. I started using them and immediately noticed a difference. Tub stays clear and foam free now. If I see the the water getting cloudy I just throw 2 turtles in and it will be clear in a day or two. Obviously your chemicals have to be proper as well but these turtles were the final piece of the puzzle.

I have always prided myself in keeping a clear hot tub. Diligent in keeping chemicals in balance and filters clean. But noticed with my last couple of filter cleaning a bit of scum ring in the filter collection area. So I figured, lets give these sponges a chance. Water is clear as ever and no scum ring in the filter collection area since. I keep 1 sponge in the filter collection area, with all of the water being eventually pulled by the pumps there, my theory they would be most effective there.

Came vacuum sealed and smashed together, looked absolutely horrible. I thought I'd have to send them back, but once you let them sit for a few hours or drop them in the water they look like the picture. Seem to be working well so far - would buy again.

Added the first 2 and they started to turn yellow within minutes. I left them in for about an hour and they were both pretty dark. I wanted to see if this was just a simple chemical reaction, not necessarily that they had done anything. I added a third, left it in for a couple hours and it stayed white... That's the 3rd one in the pic. I will also add I've seen the traditional scum balls and not noticed much of a color change in those. Those also seem to beuch denser than these. Regardless seems to work and is a great value.

Do not buy. This is the worst item I've received through this site. Pure China Crap. I just did a complete drain and clean on my spa. After spa was back up to temp I tested water. Perfect.. So I then added a new oil sponge. 2 days later I went to use spa. The Sponge was turning a nasty yellow brown color. In 5 days, and one hour of spa use. The sponge looked like a brown turd floating around in the spa. In total of two weeks, I've already used and tossed out six of them. All after only a few days use on each one of them.. Gross Gross Gross. Do Not Buy.!!!

I have a bathtub soap scum/ bath oil buildup problem and was tired of getting carpel tunnel syndrome from scrubbing it. So I'm trying different things, soap scum scrubbers, Mr. Clean erasers, etc. Next up are these cute turtles, I figured they might work since they're designed for hot tubs. I've used the same one about 5, 6 times and I'm seeing an improvement. The tub is easier to clean. It's just starting to turn a bit yellow. I rinse it after each use, may have used a bit of soap once on it. I'm kind of impressed. I might add more stars as I continue to use them.

I had mixed feelings about these after reading the reviews. I'm glad I bought them! After throwing 5 of them into my swim spa, I noticed, the next day, that the oil film was already gone on the top of the water. These were in an entire week before turning yellowish brown, but that only happened the day my pool guy came and added chemicals!! I'm guessing the material reacts to an abundance of some of the chemicals. These still seem to be working fine. I simply wring them out, over the side, whenever I am near. I threw in a couple of more the day after the maintenance guy added chemicals and it seems to have decipated enough not to turn the new ones yellow yet. I'm going to leave these all in (7 now) until I feel they no longer are soaking up the oils. GREAT BUY at a GREAT PRICE!
