This product is very easy and absorbent. You drop in and it'll float on top clean the surface of the water. Every day/night we squeeze it to get the water out of it. They last a week (we have a portable hot tub). Our tub would be kinda icky, even with the chlorine and this helped a lot. The turtle is cute in it and holds the shape very well. The only downfall is, once it is worn (after a week) it'll start to fall apart, and leave residue on the bottom of the tub. However, we own a vacuum so not a big deal. Horrible, dissolved in hot tub in less then 2 weeks. Almost had to buy new pump/filter. Also discolored much quicker then expected but dissolving was huge issue.

I had mixed feelings about these after reading the reviews. I'm glad I bought them! After throwing 5 of them into my swim spa, I noticed, the next day, that the oil film was already gone on the top of the water. These were in an entire week before turning yellowish brown, but that only happened the day my pool guy came and added chemicals!! I'm guessing the material reacts to an abundance of some of the chemicals. These still seem to be working fine. I simply wring them out, over the side, whenever I am near. I threw in a couple of more the day after the maintenance guy added chemicals and it seems to have decipated enough not to turn the new ones yellow yet. I had high hopes for the Boao 16 Pieces Oil Absorbing Sponge for my hot tub, but I was pretty let down. They do soak up some oil and scum at first, which is great for keeping the water cleaner. But the problem is they don’t last long at all—within a couple of days, the chlorine in my hot tub turned them brown and started breaking them apart. I tried rinsing them as suggested, but they just kept falling apart, leaving little bits in the water that I had to clean up. For the price, I expected them to hold up better. If you’ve got a heavily chlorinated hot tub, these might not be the best choice. I’m looking for something tougher next time. ... show more

Love these turtles!! I was skeptical about them however, we just opened our hot tub again for the year so with that comes extensive cleaning. After we had deep cleaned and sat in it one time, I did all my usual cleaning stuff & put one of the turtles in. WOAH! I was amazed at how quickly that one turtle soaked up so much gunk. The water looks crystal clear & the chemicals are all balanced but it just goes to show you that there is still stuff lurking around 🤢 Definitely would recommend these! I didn’t even bother cleaning that first turtle because it was so bad so I’m not sure about the cleaning and reusing just yet. But for the price, I just threw another turtle in the hot tub & will buy more if I run out. ... show more

Worked great when we had 20 six year olds in the pool. Absorbed a lot of the sunblock. We normally have a layer of shiny oil when we have party’s. Threw three in the pool and didn’t have the shiny layer we normally do. Definitely recommend.
