I give this smoker a 4/5 stars. The material for the legs is very flimsy, but the heat bowl and the drip catcher bowl are wonderful. I feel like the doors were formed in a rush rather than being form-fit to the barrel. Same with the top vent, as it allows too much airflow and does not properly regulate temperature. While smoking salmon and flat iron steaks, it performed almost too well as I could not keep the temp below 275F. I have to use a separate grill thermometer probe to monitor the heat coming across the grill because the supplied lid thermometer is grossly inaccurate. It has a generous amount of room for cooking, and when I smoked my flat iron steaks, I also had macaroni & cheese, as well as corn on the cob and some bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapenos. They all turned out great. Overall design is fantastic, but it could be better if higher quality material is used.

Good buy for the price. Smoked my first turkey on this smoker and it was great. I also used it to grill out steaks and again worked great.

I was really hoping this smoker grill would be a good entry point, but it's a letdown. The materials feel cheap; the metal is thin and the paint scratches easily. The instructions were terrible—just an exploded diagram that would make assembly a struggle for someone not well versed in building things. If you struggle with IKEA builds just skip this product. My biggest issue is the performance. It's difficult to get the temperature to hold, and I could feel a lot of heat radiating from the sides, there is no insulation other than the thin walled metal. The lid even came with a dent where it attaches to the main body. Honestly, if you're just looking for a simple charcoal grill, you're better off spending a little more for a Weber. I don't see this one lasting more than a single summer. It might work as a cheap introduction to smoking, but it's not a great product overall. It will grill but it’s going to take awhile.

This was my first time using a smoker but it worked really well. I made smoked ribs on it and they turned out delicious. It didn't seem like the thermometer was working properly though. I'm going to try to rig something up that gives a more accurate reading. There are a few things I would change. The legs are really short. It is best to put it on something raised if you don't want to have to be on your knees or butt adjusting or adding to the wood. The lower rack is pretty low as well because of that. It also doesn't hold together well between the two halves. So, even though it has handles you can't attempt to move it without taking it apart and moving it in sections. It does seem to be a thin material. Which means it won't hold onto heat well but it does work well for a medium tempuratures smoke. Lastly, it was barely big enough for the ribs I was making. I would make it just a tad bigger in diameter so things can fit just a little better.
