I almost returned this because I was concerned if it could stand up to the winters in the North. But, I kind of fell in love with the look of it after doing some extra things to this. I added some flex seal to the entire bottom that meats the ground. I wanted to make sure the wood wouldn't deteriorate. I also did a clear coat of waterproofing to the entire wood outside. I used silicone seanent in all connection points that weren't supposed to move, and I added additional hook locks to the doors. There are also now solar lights on each section as well. I also purchased a second one and I am going to reverse the build and make it so the connect in the run areas with the hen houses on each side. The build was not difficult, with straightforward instructions But if you want to avoid the chances of breaking anything, have two people working together. The quality isn't terrible, but it isn't the greatest in the world. Seal the wood with a clear coat or 2, and then make sure you do it the next year prior to the next cold season and it should be fine for a few years honestly. Functions for what I need it for and I am very happy with this product. Will post more photos when I complete my " Chicken village". Update Monday September New photo of the coops side my side with the build made to mirror each other.( Last Photo) The second coops wasn't as good as the first. A lot of wrapped wood. Not as good quality as the first build. It will only let me review for 1 coop even though I bought 2, so lowered my rating to 3 stars due to quality. ... show more
