In all fairness, I read a lot of the negative reviews before I bought this product. The straps are plastic and can break so I just didn't tighten them too tight. I also used a bungee cord to the vertical connection in case the straps broke. I took this all the way down the baja through the San Felipe route. The route has horrible, horrible potholes, dips, curves, inclines and declines. This is not your US highway. This route is under construction but currently horrible. This bike carrier took care of my 73 pound, Walkee F2 26x4 inch electric bike without a single problem. Excellent product, just don't overtighten the plastic straps.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: It seems all of these single bike holders are the same length which is too small for even a small adult frame road bike and small frame mountain bike. The quality was good, but it needs to be 6 inches longer. We had to return it.

This product is dangerous!!! The straps appear secure at first but come undone very easily. After installation I tested this out going 5 mph my E bike immediate feel off and bent my chain ring. This product will cost you more money in the end. DO NOT BUY!!!!

I purchased the single bike version. Specs indicate a 57" width; should fit fine across my dodge minvan, but noooo. The vertical bar adds over 18" to the width when laid down. When centering rack accordingly the rack is wider than the minivan by a couple inches on each side. If I leave it up my hatch won't open (and it will bounce around when driving). I'll be packing it up for return. One nice thing is the aluminum platform makes it nice and light and easy to carry.

Once you have this built, it’s fairly sturdy and seems durable. It’s the assembly process that’s confusing. The instructions are vague, likely having been translated by a non-english speaker or, perish the thought, AI. The parts list is and the assembly illustrations are inaccurate and hard to follow. What could have been completed in 30 minutes took over an hour. My only gripes with the design are: 1) the hole in the bar that enters the hitch receiver is threaded and takes a special bolt which is provided. This really slows the installation process. 2) The block that butts against the rear tire will not lock in place. Poor design. The bike rack is, however, reasonably priced. You could fairly compare it to those in the $300 - $400 range. Worth it? Probably. By the way, buy the ramp!

Super easy to put together I suggest mount it to your hitch and build from there comes very well packaged. Clears my Spare tire on my Jeep as well with a 32inch tire
