Excellent variable speed pump at a great price! I purchased the 2.5 HP pump and had my poolman install it. Even the poolman was impressed with the pump and all its features and ammenities at that price range. He was particularly impressesed with the ease to install and to program it, and with the pump's run dry automatic switch off safety system that protects pump and impeller from accidental run dry on install, from air bubbles in piping, and from pool water drops in droughts. It rains a lot here and there is year round hot, humid, tropical weather where I live, so he really liked the pump's protective housing that offers additional protection to its electrical components and protects pump from rusting out prematurely. He told me that energy wise, this pump should consume as much as a 90 Watt to a 100 Watt light bulb to operate, so that is alsoexcellent news! The pump is very quiet and does an excellent job at circulating all the water through the filtration system. My pool is inground, kidney bean shaped, and within the 8,000 to 10,000 gallon range including its inground hot tub / jacuzzi. I run the pump normally between speeds 2 and 3 and use speed 4 for small sprints mainly for clean up work to avoid damaging ribs in celaton filter system. Around 2-months in now from pump install and no issues with the pump's performance. I will try to update comment after a couple of years to confirm durability.

The pump and motor deserve a 5-star review. It's extremely quiet and very energy efficient. But the company that provides it needs to practice basic quality control before they ship a product. Pump/motor Installation: The pump is lightweight and easy to handle, so one person can easily perform the installation. Make sure the pump flanges are level with the inlet and outlet piping flanges. The O-rings are small and seal perfectly when the alignment is correct, but they are not large enough to overcome a misalignment and will leak if it's not near perfect. Purchase a pack of small shims to correct any misalignment. Electrical and wiring: Standard wiring colors for a 220-volt system are black/black/red. The 220 motor comes with black/white/green (colors for 120v). This can be a little confusing and should probably be shipped with the correct color wiring. This is where they lost the 5th star in the review. After wiring the pump and applying power, the control panel did not come on. After troubleshooting, checking and rechecking the wiring for 45 minutes, I decided to remove the control panel to see if the wiring was not connected inside the pump. The small 4-pin plug that connects the control panel to the motor was not plugged in at all. After connecting the plug, everything worked fine. This should be a basic test by the manufacturer before they ship a product. Programming the controller is easy, but they should indicate in the provided manual that the pump must be off to adjust anything, even the clock setting. Once set, it's a smooth, quiet operation. Updated review: After several days in operation, there has been NO instance of the clock time losing accuracy as was reported in many previous reviews. The issue was likely due to timers based on a 50hz cycle which is common in Europe and Asia vs. a 60hz cycle used in America. Looks like they've fixed this issue.

Great for value money. Noise level is silance. Pump cleans out my pool like a charm. Zero regrets! At first the timing on it was a nightmare, but reached out to seller and they replaced it. Did not work either until they shipped out a replacement pump face. Problem fixed! I do wish the speed was more powerful tho.

Excellent product and Customer Service! Received the pump and everything was working as expected. After about a week or so, I noticed the clock/timer was running slow. I reached out to customer service and they immediately sent out a new Control Board. Installed the new Control Board and it has been running perfectly ever since. Very satisfied with this product, company and especially Jessie in their Customer Service dept. She followed up with me consistently ensuring the product was working properly and what I expected!

I should have bought this sooner. I have had my pool for nine years and replaced the single speed pump once. It was time to replace the liner in the pool and my pool liner replacement guy told me about the variable speed pumps and how they are so much better for your water and your liner. He said not to replace it until I needed to but when I did, to go with the variable speed pump. I didn't when we initially had the pool put in because they were so expensive. I looked on amazon and found this pool pump and decided I might as well replace it along with the new liner. It was so easy to swap this pump from the old one. If you are wanting to take care of your own pool, go to youtube and watch swimming pool steve and you will learn a lot about caring for your pool, the water flows, etc. I have no affiliation with him or his channel but he is super informative and that's where I have been going to "pool school". LOL! This pump is super easy to program. I waited for a few weeks of it running to be sure my review would be correct and I just keep kicking myself every day for not getting it sooner. It's so much quieter than the old pump and saves money with reduced draw but also keeps moving the water continuously so it's better for your pool. Stop waiting and just do it!!!!!
