  • Good quality
Style: Wired-1Cam
Very good color saturation in daylight, very sharp picture. Night vision is very good also. The cord has a button built in where you can tilt the lens slightly up, down, and side to side.

  • Easy to install and live with.
Style: WiFi-4Cam
This was purchased after a poor experience with Lorex. And I am very happy. Mine is connected to a TV which is also used for cable, DVR and now security. I programmed my remote to switch between the choices. The installation was too far from the router, so I used an inexpensive ethernet extender, which works fine. They had an excellent tutorial on how to set up a gmail account for remote alarms. They missed the fact that TLS, required for Gmail, uses port 587 rather than 25. Everything else was correct. The cameras all connected immediately, and they have a much greater range. It also has the ability use any camera as a relay point to a further location. Even neater, each camera also has an ethernet port, so I could have easily add a camera at the barn, which is already remoted with the house router. Image quality is really 1080, and the night vision is excellent. The motion detection has a neat feature, with a grid which allows selecting the field of view for motion detection. For example, the refrigerator light interferes with camera covering the open concept kitchen, was able to "notch" out the light. The current remote viewing app, IP Pro3 on google play store, is outstanding. Just works. It does everything that one would want to do, except the con listed below. The con. There is no easy way to remotely disable the motion detection. So when you enter the house, the alarms are going to ring, and emails galore until the laborious process to turn off the alarms by signing into the system, and disabling the alarms is complete. They really need an app which would automate the process of turning on and turning off the motion sensing with a single button on a phone app. So our work around is to power down the entire system when we are home. When we leave the house, we use a remote internet power socket to power on the systems. Before entering on return, we power down the whole system. Would much prefer a method of 24 hour recording, and a simple remote method to enable and kill motion detection. We also use this method upon retiring at night, as only the door to the bedroom is motion covered. This way everything is recorded, and since there is no motion, there are no alarms. ... show more

  • Detailed review - Zosi 2K 8CH Wireless Security System (non-PoE version)
Style: WiFi-4Cam
I've owned previous Zosi wireless security camera systems, so I upgraded to this one since my old cams lacked sound, alarm capabilities, and intercoms. My previous Zosi system was from 2018 and ran like a champ the entire time, not one camera failed. I also live in the NE US where we have cold snowy winters, strong winds, and plenty of storms...so the cameras did fine in the harsh weather. The cameras and NVR both work great to this day. Great night vision and very clear day footage. The old Zosi system (2018 model) used Zosi Cloud as the app, the new one uses "Zosi Smart" which is somewhat similar to Zosi Cloud. Still, I wanted to upgrade to this particular setup. 1. About the cameras... This set included 4 cameras. All of them are outdoor rated, 2K resolution, and the cams have built-in intercoms and LED lights for alarm purposes. The viewing angle of these cams is amazing...they capture a fairly wide area with great clarity. Little to no chance they'll miss anything within 100 ft in front of them, even at night. The only real limitation to installing these cameras is they need to be near a power outlet. You can buy power cord extensions however if you mount the camera far from an outlet. The included power adapters give you about 15 ft of length which should be sufficient for most households. 2. About the NVR... The NVR (simply stands for Network Video Recorder) is fairly small but could be even smaller as the main board inside the unit is almost the same size as a Raspberry Pi 4b. The NVR unit included a built-in 1TB HDD for recording. The NVR has about 200 ft of wireless signal range to the cameras, but thick walls and building materials such as concrete and metal will reduce this range substantially. It's best to place your NVR in a central location so that none of the cameras are especially far away when mounted. You'll need a display and a mouse connected to the NVR to set the unit up and configure it. The NVR user interface is rather clunky and immature...you cannot use a keyboard, but rather must use a mouse to click a small onscreen keyboard that is super annoying and slow to use. There is no shutdown option on the menu, but you can reboot the NVR by choosing "Manual Maintenance" from the menu. By "maintenance" Zosi seems to be referring to reboot. Reboots can be scheduled...I'd recommend once a week which is the default. You MUST hook the NVR up to your network with a network patch cable, it is NOT Wifi-capable, nor is it designed to be - some user reviews seemed to be confused by this. One major issue is that the "siren and lights" alarm cannot be set on a schedule, so if that alarm is enabled it will trigger 24x7. Unless you want to annoy your neighbors or scare the delivery guy every time a package is delivered, I'd recommend leaving the siren and lights alarms disabled. Overall the UI is not great, so it takes considerable time to configure things to your liking. The UI is one of those you-get-what-you-pay-for deals, and the main drawback when using a less-expensive camera security system like this one. 3. About the Zosi Smart app... Many users have complained about the Zosi Smart phone app, and I can understand why. It's filled with confusing icons that don't necessarily correlate with their functionality. A big drawback is when you orient your phone horizontally or vertically, the video does not seem to orient automatically with it. This is an annoyance and something that the older Zosi cloud app had zero problems handling. I still prefer the older Zosi Cloud app over Zosi Smart, it'll take some time to adjust to the new app and will surely frustrate non-savvy users. I included a couple of screenshots (taken during the day time) from the Zosi smart app, showing that the video is fairly crisp during the day. The night vision is great as well. 4. Conclusion... Overall for the $$ this camera security system is very nice and has a lot of features. Plan on spending a couple of hours configuring things after you mount and plug in your wireless cameras. If you put the time in, you can get this system running as well as products that cost double or triple this one. The video quality is as good as a more expensive system. The downfall is the user interface...it's immature but hopefully Zosi will update the firmware in the near future and iron out these (mostly) minor problems. For under $200 this Zosi security camera system is a great deal. ... show more

  • Great affordable camera
Style: Wired-1Cam
****Update****. Installed the second camera and tried to tuck the cord under my siding as I had the previous but the video adjustment knob is too large to discretely hide…..video is very good Installed this camera to replace one that was damaged by lightning. After I finally forced myself the ladder and did the swap the image quality was not that great ….but with the very kind guidance from Slina (ZOSI support) I was able to get that sorted Very happy with the result and although I have one more to swap I’m sure that will also look great. One thing to note is if you are replacing an older ZOSI camera like I did the base on the new is smaller and would require 3 more holes….you can swap the mounting base fyi Go Phillies ! ... show more
