This is our 2nd night owl system. Our 1st is still going strong it just won't load enough cameras for what we need. Adding a wireless camera is a little but of a pain but not impossible even with going through a couple metal walls. Its a fair value for the system. The night vision works great as long as you dont have christmas lights or something hung right by them. The app notifications are fairly fast. The cables we had to be a little creative with to get them where we needed them, they could stand to have a few with a bit longer of a cable for a couple cameras. ... show more

I loved my last set of night owl cameras but after seven years the cameras were dying and I decided to upgrade. I bought this set because the price was good and it seemed to have all the extras. The old wires worked with the new set but I did replace the ones that were easy to get at. I love the two way audio as it works great. The daytime video is very good but the nighttime is only good right in front of the camera. I can’t use the notifications at night because they go off all night long every couple of minutes from moths or nothing. I’ve tried to make adjustments but nothing works. They alert to humans when there is nothing there. Daytime notifications work great but nighttime is ridiculous. After researching this problem it seems that most IR cameras all have the same problem. The spotlights go on to motion even during the day but at night they are constantly going on and off and my neighbors call to make sure I am ok. So I don’t use the spotlights at all. ... show more

I'd give it five stars if it didn't have one problem. I set the notification to record and notify me if it's a person only, instead of car or motion. But it records and notifies me if cats walk by and says it's human. So I get alot of unwanted recordings and notifications. Other than that, it's perfect. ... show more

    • HARD DRIVE DOESN'T WORK!!!!!
It took a little longer than I expected to get it installed. It was just over a month before I got someone to install it for me. Once installed, the hard drive didn't work. I contacted company and they would not replace because it was past the 30 day refund/replacement time. Now I have to buy another DVR. It has only been 2 weeks past the 30 day mark. I am very unhappy with this seller and would not recommend buying from them. Buy directly from Night Owl if you want one of these. I will buy my replacement from Night Owl themselves and not from this seller. RIP OFF!!!!!! ... show more
