If you can put cameras up and wire it this is a great system but the main thing that made a HUGE difference is making sure you get a good hard drive. I at first tried some regular pc hard drives and I had nothing but problems with the system rebooting randomly, not recording, not being able to look at playback, etc. but then I ordered an ENTERPRISE hard drive, which are made for reliability and working 24/7 in high speed server computers. I found 1tb very reasonable brand new drives and I have not had one problem since then. The system is rock solid. The app is good too, you can use it from your smart phone or computer on the same network - just use the local login option on the Zosi Network Video Monitor app. I am also using this with my old PTZ camera and at first I didn't think it would work but it does! It is not perfect with the PTZ, sometimes I have to click a few times for the pan to work or focus, but overall I'm very happy with the DVR for the price. You get more than you pay for.

The media could not be loaded. The cameras have good quality and the kit is very easy to setup. I've been working as a security system engineer for more than 16 years and I must say that the Zosi team really knows how to create devices that are very simple to setup. Everything is plug-and-play, the cables and screws for the installation come in the kit. The network cables can power the cameras up, so there's no need for the extra power supply or cables unless you want to install one of the IP cameras connected directly to your router and far away from the recorder (which I did and worked fine). The night vision is great and I can see everything in the room (just found out my cat bites the TV cable at night time). For remote viewing, the Zosi Smart App is awesome since it's super easy to setup and works pretty good. Just to make sure I wouldn't have a hard time to fix some issues in the future, I sent an email to the support team to ask them how to reset the recorder if I forget my password. I got a response back after 6 hours and I could test the password reset procedure successfully. The only minor problem I found was that the exported video didn't play in the default windows media player (since it's compressed with the H.265 CODEC), so I downloaded the VLC Player (Free) and everything worked fine.

I had 2 systems of another brand before and they both dies after some years of use. I was able to re-use Ethernet cables (4-wire) Image quality is good. Cameras are wider angle than my previous one, which is Ok since the resolution is also higher, so I can get same level of details. Image transmission is reliable even over the included 100ft cable and even over my 100ft hand-made cable (intermittent video drop was a big problem with my previous system) Night vision is good, though IR LED only highlight the center of a wide-angle image. Software interface is intuitive enough - I like it. Now, problems. Mount design is good for developing your 3D imagination, but if you are new to robotics it might take you a while to figure out how to mount the camera. There are 3 degrees of freedom but stacking order is not intuition-friendly. It is Ok, you will get used to it by the time you mount your 8th camera. Another problem is: one of 8 cameras was blurry. I took a closer look and found severe moisture condensation. That camera was mounted in a garage and the weather was dry since the package arrived, so all that moisture is likely came from China. That is also not a big problem. I opened the camera (it is easy - just 3 small screws) and let it dry and now it works well. Update: Power supply is not providing enough power. Only 7 cameras can work reliably at a time - signal from one or two cameras disappears at random. Replacing it with 48v 3A power supply resolves the issue.

After 2 hours of fiddling with the set. I like the system but I got into a few problems. The quality of the cameras feels good. Good aluminum body. Quality of the image is good (daylight) unable to check at night yet system is not installed After first boot up the system works flawlessly after a few min the RGB when south (check pic) HDMI color good The DVR unit is good but the space to install the HDD is small and I have problems installing it (see pics) the power cord for the HDD is too short. I have to install in different orientation de HDD the holes in the case don't match the HDD case so is hold just by 1 screw i can put more but I have to make holes in the case. One of the wires came defective I have to wiggle to make good connection is not at the metallic connector is at the rubber part that fail . Software is good a lot of settings I'm a handy guy technically inclined but the software is too much for my brain for now to handle. Few things I can't make it work (my fault) I didn't have the time to connect to the internet yet. The RC is not good I have to point straight to the box otherwise will not work and the distance maybe 3-5 feet not more. Another thing catch my attention after 30 min of operation the CPU gets hot 122-123 Fahrenheit degrees (with the box open) I don't know how long is going to last the unit before conk out. The aluminum cooler is too small needs a bigger better one the unit is fan less (sorry for the fuzzy pic) I will update this review as I go deeper into the system keep in touch!! Ok after 2 days of use unable to get this thing to get connected to the internet for remote view. Is a royal pain to make it work MANUAL IS POOR AS IS BEST thanks you tube!!! Another thing one of the cameras is getting a fuzzy pic 3 cams work fine but one already is giving trouble (yes I check the wire) Went down one star From 3 to 2) due to more setup complications. More updates will be posted Will be posted Ok new update after maybe 2 years? Ok first things first I didn't installed the cameras right away it took at least to setup them about 8 months after I bought them (sorry I'm a lazy fat nurse) The box is working flawlessly software wise is ok is a learning curve I'm a nurse not a camera guy is a lot of settings I'm still having a low understanding about them but is my fault (I deserve a 1 star for my poor performance). Cameras they are sturdy and look good 2 already fail I forgot to take a pic from the first one but this one fail 2 days ago see the pic I paid at that time $165.99 now the price for the same set is $ 90.99 If you get them to work good I think is a good investment they are ok for the price but if the fail like in my case is a bad investment I don't expect stellar performance for price but I wish they work longer.
