This product has heat mass. It heats up a little slower than a cheap griddle, but it also cooks evenly no matter where your food is. I kind of wish it were easier to drain fats, but it's so large you can separate it pretty easy and drain while it's still warm. Other than that, it textures your pancakes. It's a bit of a geometric visual trip but it does not affect the quality of the pancake and provides an increased surface area to increase your syrup to pancake ratio. Can not find anything else to complain about. Some complain about smoke, it's a griddle. That is what windows and exhaust hoods are for. It doesn't smoke more or less than my other appliances. You can cook literally anything in it, it has a lid which is phenomenal for keeping warm and retaining moisture when cooking for a long time. If you demand pancakes with a boring non-geometric surface, this isn't your griddle. If you want a griddle that just works well, is versatile, and most importantly, worth the money, accept no substitutes. ... show more

I'm updating my original review. I have come to love this griddle. After 30+ years of using many griddles, this has proven to be the best of them all. Its costly for sure, but you absolutely wont find a better griddle that heats evenly with great non-stick. I get the reviews about the exact temperature of the settings, no issues, I jest set it lower... I'm the grandpa who makes the worlds best pancakes... Perfect $160 for an Electric Griddle, just completely crazy, but I decided to buy this for two advertised features. Ever heat distribution and easy to clean, and one feature important to me with the higher sides but not as high as a large electric skillet. Yes the temperature was even. I used a scanning laser thermometer and cooked french toast this morning. Set the temperature to 350 and let it preheat. the temperature varied 5-12 degrees edge to edge, end to end... perfect Not perfect is that when set to 350 the temp was 405 degrees, so I adjusted to 300 to accomplish my goal. Six slices of toast were cooked even with no hot spots whatsoever, a lifetime first and worth a premium. Yes it was very easy to clean but with four 20" components it took up some counter space to dry. The quality is medium and will take special care not to damage but not cheap and flimsy, this is where the cost was excessive, for this much I expected a substantial build. each component will flex easily except the cooking plate, this is solid but has a very warning to not drop it.. I think I'm an idiot for spending this much, but every once in a while ?? ... show more

This thing is awesome! When I looked across the cooking surface I had flashbacks to my time in the Navy stationed aboard an aircraft carrier looking across the flight deck. In other words, it's huge! I bought this because I'm often juggling stove top real estate and while I have a double burner griddle it is about 15 years old and the non-stick isn't what it used to be. Besides that there were times it just wasn't big enough. Those days are gone. I can still use all four gas burners and now the huge cooking surface of the Zojirushi EA-DCC10. I haven't done breakfast on it yet, but you could pretty much cook everything on this one griddle all at the same time. I also own a Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5 1/2 cup rice cooker and my satisfaction with that item made purchasing this Zojirushi product that much easier. I've just received this griddle and used it twice. First was for carne asada tacos. It was a breeze cooking the meat, enough for my three person family to have three large tacos apiece. After I had cooked the meat most of the way I moved it over to one side and could fry up the tortillas, four at a time with the meat still cooking on one side (cilantro lime rice cooking away in my Zojirushi rice cooker). Could easily do six tacos sized tortillas at once if thats all you were doing. The non-stick was perfect and cleaned easily with a paper towel. Next I cooked about three pounds of chopped chicken thighs to make my lunches for the week. Once the chicken was nice and browned I again moved it to one side and cooked diced onion and jalapeno on the other side before mixing it together once the onions were soft. I normally do this in a skillet and remove the meat after it's brown and cook the onions then add the meat back. With this I was able to do it all on this one surface. I will update this review as I use the griddle more, but out of the box and after the first couple uses I'm very happy with my purchase. **UPDATE** Man, this thing continues to impress. I cook on this several days every week and have been enjoying every minute of it. I already cooked a lot from scratch, so it isn't like I'm cooking because I have the sizzler, but I have moved the majority of my cooking from the stovetop to this unit and my results have improved. I've cooked everything from NY Strip steaks, pork loin chops, flank steak, cubed chicken thighs, eggs, ham, homestyle potatoes, fish to onions and sauerkraut. The size is awesome. It's safe to say you could cook about 5lbs of chopped meat on this thing, no problem. The outer edge stays completely cool to the touch. The surface cleans very easily. After about a month the non-stick is looking rock solid. It's an attractive piece of cooking equipment. Loving it! ... show more

Zojirushi = Quality. No doubt about that. I picked this up bc I cannot order the EA-GV35AM-TDBBQ in the US. Regardless, the EA-DCC10 is more than worth the money. Few things to note. This thing is a beast. It is very large and quality is perfect. Very easy to clean. Worried about scratching it with using metal utensils? No problem. The surface is tough as nails. The grill comes with a sharp metal spatula bc the company is so confident that you will not scratch the grill. I use this often for KBBQ and breakfast with the kids. The only difficult thing about this grill is finding a place to store it. It is pretty large. ... show more
