If you don’t want to add a second pump to run a pressure cleaner, the MX8 is a great choice. Very easy to setup: Connect the hoses together, make sure your pump is running at 20-25GPM, plug it in and watch it go. This is my 3rd MX8. The last one gave up the ghost after 5 years, which I think is better than average for pool equipment. The rubber scrubbers on the bottom of the unit do a good job of removing the dust/minerals that can coat the inside of our pool. It generally doesn’t get stuck on stairs and will clean the walls all the way up to the tile. It’s also pretty easy to fix (swap parts) when something does go wrong, like the scrubbers or tracks wearing out. Overall a great option for a suction-side cleaner. I’m deducting one star because it’s so ridiculously expensive for what is essentially a plastic box and a few gears and flaps to make it go. But it cleans well and I’m happy with it. ... show more

This is my fourth MX8 in 12 years. I love this pool cleaner. It does a great job and really picks up the dust and dirt. My old ones were given to friends or neighbors. I’ve replaced parts and treads as they wore low. It has great suction and climbs the sides of my pool well! Definitely buy again!

This is working really well. It climbs the walls and cleans right up to the waterline. It does not manage to switch from the wall to the stair flats but overall it is performing better than my Zodiac G3 (which was great but would not reach the waterline and would get stuck in some corners near the stairs). ... show more

Works on glass mosaic pool - doesn’t climb stairs but that’s fine. Had good traction and great cleaning results. Very pleased. Had a Hayward before and it was … almost static as it had no grip on the glass mosaic. This Jandy works - Great product.

I ordered this after my Pentair vacuum expired from 5 years of use. Several days elapsed before I received the Zodiac and alge had built up on the pool bottom. I got this unit because of the brush action it provided and sure enough it cut a trail right through the mess. After a day of action, the bottom was clean, and it even works the walls. You must calibrate the amount of suction as too much will have it climb the wall to the surface and start sucking air. Overall, it is a great unit and roams the entire pool. ... show more

I've recently switched from a pool service to doing it myself, and a pool vacuum was a must. I'm shocked by how thoroughly this product cleans the floor and walls of the pool with nothing more than a vacuum hose as propulsion. it takes a little calibration to set up, but after 5 minutes of getting the water flow to the right speed for the vacuum, it works like a charm. ... show more
