As someone that's installed ceiling fans since high school, about 20 years ago, one thing's for sure: they are a lot easier to install than they used to be. However, a lot of the newer ones are a lot more annoying in terms of functionality. When I say annoying, I mean when you turn the switch on, you just want the fan to turn on. You do not turn the switch on and then go look for the remote and then hit this setting and then make sure the blades are spinning in the direction that you want. So this one was actually quite easy to install. I think I've installed another one from this brand in the past. We had an open slot in our gym because the last fan that I installed annoyed me so much that I threw it away. While this one is not perfect, it is a lot better than some of the other recent fans we've installed. The good news is that when you flip the switch, this one turns on. It's crazy that several other fans don't turn on when you hit the switch. You have to hit the switch and then hit the power button on the remote. It does seem that the default motion or rotation of the fan is to go in the opposite direction of cooling the room, essentially heating the room, which is not what we're looking for in the gym. So every time we turn on the switch, we have to go and then flip or push the blade button to adjust on the remote which direction the fan is blowing. For a 60-inch fan, it is extremely quiet and does produce a lot of airflow when going in the right direction. I guess some people really just like using remotes for things. Sure, it's great, but I really don't like having two remotes for two fans in the gym. Don't get me started on ceiling fans with lights. They are even more annoying. In short, if you're looking for a relatively large fan that turns on when you flip the switch, this is a good option. Of the five or so fans I've installed in the past year, I would put this one at number two in terms of functioning like it should, with a good user interface. It still has a lot of room for improvement compared to the fans that we grew up with, where you flip the light switch on and the fan turns on, and you adjust the speed by pulling the chain. Nothing to break, no remote to control, to keep track of, no batteries, no frustration.

This fan basically took one look at the room and decided its only job was to move air efficiently and mind its business. Honestly, that level of self awareness is refreshing and perfect. The 60 inch size gives it real presence, and the seven blades help it look more polished than the usual basic fan design. The black finish adds a clean modern edge, and because there is no light fixture attached, it has a streamlined look that works especially well in spaces that already have enough overhead lighting. From a performance standpoint, it does exactly what it should. The DC motor is quiet enough for bedrooms, but it also has enough power to make sense in larger rooms, covered patios, or garages where airflow matters more than delicate ambiance. The six speed settings are useful, with noticeable differences between levels instead of the usual three buttons pretending to be enough for everyone. The reversible motor is another practical feature, because it lets the fan stay useful through different seasons instead of becoming a decorative ceiling disc for half the year. Installation is not terrible, but it is still a 60 inch ceiling fan, so this is not the kind of project you knock out in ten relaxed minutes while casually holding a coffee. The size helps performance, but it also means you need the right space for it, both visually and physically. The lack of a light is either a major plus or an obvious limitation, depending on the room setup, and that is really the main tradeoff here. Outside of that, it is a well made, quiet, good looking fan that focuses on airflow first and does that job really well.
