I boil the water then pour it into another container with a tea bag to steep. Recently found that pour-over coffee has a better, fresher taste so I wanted something that would quickly boil water without the use of a pot or using the microwave and finding out that the coffee cup is hotter than the water. So I got this. Simple to use. Plug in base. Fill pitcher with water. Set on base and press down tab, blue light means heating. Turns off automatically. Boils water in MINUTES! Ive owned 3 different kettle's. This one is the best. Its wide mouth makes it much easier to clean. The blue light is a wonderful feature. My only complaint would be that I did have one that heated a bit faster.

Minium and maximum markings should be on both sides of the kettle. It is heavy, and when drawing water from the refrigerator it is difficult to fit under the spout, and difficult to see when you have reached the minimum line. It is also very loud. It does heat up quickly and can be turned back on very shortly after reaching boiling, when it shuts off automatically. Ideally, a setting to keep it boiling for several minutes would be very helpful. ... show more
