I just bought this cooker around Christmas this year and have only used it a few times. Had seen them at Macys for quite a bit more. Good old Amazon always has the best deal. It works very well and is attractive to boot. Polished 18/10 stainless steel. This pot is tall about 17 inches, and has plenty of room for cooking. Not sure what the bottom plate is made of, but keeps food hot even after removed from the heat source. I just place the lid on top after cooking, and stays steaming hot for some time. It has a small indicator that lets you know it is at full pressure, 15 pounds, it is from there that you start your timing of the food your cooking. Has three ways to release pressure. Can be done with the quick release position, you can run cool water over the pot, or let it cool down naturally about 10 minutes. My stove is electric, but can be used with gas or induction. Is easy to clean and comes with detailed instructions and 50 recipes to try. So far I love it. Meats come out so tender, and vegies cook in about 7 minutes. Bought this along with a different product from the same brand since I was looking for a pressure cooker and a friend recommended Zavor. Figured I would try a traditional pressure cooker since that’s what my family used back in the day. As soon as I opened it I noticed this was a much more “modern” take on a pressure cooker which was reassuring (those older models can be pretty scary). Used it a couple of times and it’s been working great, not to mention it’s easy to clean since you can just pop the pot in the dishwasher (not the lid though, almost made that mistake). Great product design and quality perfect for a large family to cook meals in. the bottom of this pan is much like a frying pan so you can use this to sear your food after it's fully cooked giving a nice crispy salty flavor with a tender middle. Terrific little pressure cooker. I own the ten quart version of this cooker, and wanted something that holds less than a vat of food, for days when only two of us are at home. So, after much pondering, I bought the 4 quart pot. It makes enough soup for three people to eat a hearty meal, with a little left over. It's also a great pot without the lid. The size is so convenient, and it fits the burners on my glass top stove exactly. If I had a complaint, it would be that the handle drips water occasionally. I think I have the gasket slightly misplaced, because it doesn't happen all the time or even most of the time. When I get that figured out, this will be perfect. ... show more

I thought I got a dud the second time I used it. Water was leaking from the handle onto the stovetop. Here’s what I found out - once it comes up to pressure and the orange button has popped up, the leaking stops. It helps to get the liquid boiling, then lock the lid down so it takes less time for the pressure to build. Overall, I like it! I like it because the stovetop cooker heats up faster than the InstaPot. Sure, the programmable cooks just as fast, and you can make yogurt, has two pressure settings, etc., but it seems to take a long time to heat up. The Zavor heats up faster and I just set a timer, so, overall, it's faster to use. We still use them both, but the Zavor is a little larger, and easy to clean, so it's definitely a plus in the kitchen. ... show more
