This is a great little heater because it doesn’t take up a lot of space, and I love the external temperature control. Very simple to adjust the temperature as opposed to having to put your hands in the aquarium or read a tiny indicator on the heater knob. However, I can’t give it five stars for one flaw. The manufacture found it necessary to label the heater in large letters with Mini Heater. Really? I guess I would’ve known it was a heater if it wasn’t labeled. I set this tank up as a breeder tank, so I really don’t care for anyone who’s setting up a nice decorative aquarium, having a piece of equipment labeled in large letters is unsightly It’s just unnecessary. Previously is was labeled with the manufacturer name, which is a little better.

If you're OK with your small aquarium water temperature between 76 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit, this is a great buy! It's automatically set to 78 degrees and not customizable, which was the only detractor for me. Keep in mind, submersible heaters typically keep the water within 2 degrees of the setting, so as long as that temperature range is good for your aquarium, it's definitely worth it!

This is a great product for the price! I originally was going to go to the local pet store but this was more cost efficient AND it has a built in thermostat that I couldn’t find anywhere! My turtle is finally happy with a heater that can keep him warm!

Interior heater connects to an exterior digital readout unit that has large, lit up numbers for easy reading. No more squinting to read results. A plus is that the desired temperature is not preset and permanent. You can set your own temp. Six months after installation, I compared its digital readout to the independent readout of the highly rated Cooper thermometer…temps were an exact match! Suction cup, like most suction cups was a disappointment…one star off for that. Would buy again and would highly recommend.

This thing is not accurate at all, I have it in my 10 gallon betta hendra tank. It frequently overheats the tank to above 80 degrees, I’ve tried setting it to 76-77 to hopefully make it heat the tank to exactly 80 degrees, but then randomly it stops working and the tank will go down to below 76. I just don’t understand this product and I’m replacing my fish’s heater with something better.
