I base my purchases on the reviews of others, but obviously it’s not hard to still be nervous about a product yourself; but the reviews were right! This works amazing! I was previously using the 100W for my 20 gal, however had to upgrade my turtle hatchlings to a 55 gal aquarium, which is obviously over the recommended for the heater, however it still keeps the temperature! I’ve had terrible heaters in the past that overheated and affected previous aquariums, so I love that the temperature is always currently displayed. Definitely helps my anxiety. Even with the aquarium 3/4 full, it heated the water from probably close to 60F to 85F within the hour, and has maintained ever since! I definitely love to keep my place cold, and it’s nice having a reliable aquarium heater to keep my turtles and fish comfortable and healthy. Can’t wait to buy more for future tanks! ... show more

I received this on May 15th & at first was very happy with it. I liked the digital readout & built in thermometer. But today August 3rd I noticed my water felt very cold. I checked the digital read & it said 82 & showed a green light which indicates the heater is not currently heating. The glass thermometer in the tank read 72. I get out 2 more glass thermometers & put them in the tank. They all read exactly 72. Meanwhile my digital readout still says the tank is 82. That's a 10 degrees discrepancy! Trash! I will be ordering a hygger like I use for my other tanks. You get what you pay for. I'll be arguing for a refund from Amazon because this is ridiculous ... show more

Only had it 5 months and it quit working. Luckly I have a 2 heaters in this tank so I have something till I can get something else. This was a 100w heater. Update, , The seller did contact me to give me a refund. The other ones of this type are working fine.

It's great for my 20 gallon, the only issue being that I have to have it set about 2-3 degrees higher than the temperature I want it at (I want my water to be 75 degrees and so I have the heater set at 78) but other than that it's consistent and the water level dose not fluctuate at all.

This product was easy to use. One day, all the fish were dead and I looked at the heater and it was reading “HI”. The aquarium glass was hot to the touch. Thought the kids messed with it. Plugged it in again today to try and set the temperature to 78. All was fine but after watching the digital numbers for a couple minutes, the readout was “HI”… the same setting when I found my fish cooked. Used for about two months. Threw it in the trash and went with a preset heater for the little kids tank. Not sure if it was user error, but don’t want to cook any more fish. ... show more
