We are a family who loves to go on bike rides & mountain biking. We took this from Nashville, TN to Bentonville, AR. Building, installation & loading bikes is easy. The bikes are secured well. This didn't break nor did it break our wallet. This is definitely worth the price tag!

Is it perfect? Nope. Is it Gud Enuf? Oh yea. I have no aspirations to join the Tour de France, nor does my family. But we want to take our Huffys to the local bike path sometimes. Buying an 600 or 800 dollar platform just feels stupid for something that will be used 2-3x a year. So yea, could it be better? Sure. The hitch lock is gud enuf, but could be better, the bike attachments could be a bit better, but you know what, for the price, its gud enuf.

We are currently only using half of the bike rack (for two bikes), but it's great that it comes apart in a way that you can use all of it, or only half if you want. My dad decided to test the limit and put his ~70 pound e-bike on here, and it is working great. As long as you are using the upper hook and the included straps to secure the bike, it really stays on there. We have been using this for months and love it. It also comes off pretty easily, and we keep a wrench in the truck for when we need it off completely (not just folded up, which is also awesome, but then we can't open the bed of the truck). This has made our weekly bike trips so much easier than before when we had to put everything into the bed of the truck.

seems heavy duty, assembles easily, good paint. *** The 2" stinger was impossible to insert into the receiver, Distortion above the threaded hole required grinding to remove the arched top of what should have been a square tube. Sloppy construction, quality control issue IMHO***. Now works fine

As I get older, this bike rack works better for me. My previous four bike rack had two arms sticking out about the height of the tailgate and you had to lift the bike and work it through the arms to mount them. This rack is lower to the ground and requires little lifting. Since my truck has high ground clearance, I bought a four inch drop receiver adapter that puts the bike rack even lower. The rack did wobble in the receiver so I purchased a nut and bolt kit. The nut slides in the receiver and has wings that keep it from moving. The bolt tightens the two pieces and takes care of the wobble. If someone wants to steal the rack, they better have the tools to remove the bolt.

This product is flat out dangerous and I can't believe the craftsmanship and design decisions that were made. My experience: We purchased this item about 6 months ago. Worked fine for the most part. We usually transported between 2-3 bikes and never more than 60 lbs of total load. Had not used the item for about 1 month and decided to go for a bike ride. Here again we were transporting two bikes so no more than 50 lbs. We started out from my neighborhood and after a few blocks i began to notice the bikes appeared lower in my rear view mirror. I pulled over and quickly realized that the hinge upon which the bikes was resting (which turns out was ONLY supported by a single bolt) was bending. I've tried to re-tighten this bolt several times, but to no avail and quite honestly I am not convinced this is a pretty big design flaw. There is no other mechanism preventing the hinge from bending and after doing a little digging most of the other alternatives out there are designed differently (probably for a reason). While I am grateful i realized this before I got on a freeway, I am also really concerned that this could have not only destroyed some of our very nice bikes but caused an accident if I would have driven this where I was initially intending. This item is poorly designed and should not be so easily available.
