The mini fish heater automatically resumes last temperature setting after power outage, no need to reprogram. The power will be cut off and stop heating automatically if the heater leaves the water or the heater do not fully immerse in the water. When placed vertically in the fish tank, it should be 100% immersed in the water. When placed horizontally in the fish tank, it should be 100% immersed in water. It is forbid for exposing some main body part of heater on water when using, this will cause the heater to display the "E1" code. The water level of fish tank cannot be very low, as it is for heater to expose on water surface, this will cause the heater to display the "E1" code. How to change temperature unit? Press and hold "SET" button, power on the heater and then release "SET" button, the temperature unit will be changed between C and F. The device displays the “E1” error code during use. How can this be resolved? The power will be cut off and stop heating automatically if the heater leaves the water or the heater do not fully immerse in the water. Display 'E1' error code. The heater will re-work if it goes back to water. The device displays the “H1” error code during use. How can this be resolved? The power will be cut off and stop heating automatically if the water temperature exceeds 95°F, Display 'H1' error code. The heater will re-work if the water temperature below 93°F.

Nice little heater

I have a 50w heater in a 5 gallon tank. I love that it has an external control for the temperature and it also is a thermometer. In addition to the thermometer on the heater, I also have a thermometer that mounts on the aquarium glass. The two are very close, within a couple of degrees. The best thing about this is I don't have to put my hands in the water to set the temperature and it's one of the few small heaters that doesn't have a 78° preset. i use this heater in all 3 of my tanks for the last year now they work good and aren't overpriced like the ones in the pet stores. been keeping my tanks around 77 with no issues :)

For my 5.5 gallon fish tank

I keep my 5.5 gallon tank at about 74°F. Heater works really well but the thermostat doesn't work. The heater always says it's about 6 degrees lower in the tank than what it actually is. I use a separate thermometer to check the temperature daily. Because the thermostat doesn't work I also have to unplug it if my house gets too hot or turn the heater up if my house is too cold. ... show more

Over heated and cooked all my fish

I was at first happy with this product. The price was good, the size was good it was working good. Then over the past weekend (I have only had it for a month or two), it went haywire and heated my tank up to 96 degrees F and cooked all of my fish. I am so mad about this. The temp is still set to 70F but nope it sure in heck didn't stay at it. The fish I had weren't cheap either and I had to order them from online and shipped to me. DO NOT BUY THIS. I have been using common big named store brand heaters for years and only seem to get a couple years out of them at best. Got one of these guys as a replacement and I love it. Compact, accurate, and the built-in thermometer is great

I got the 50W for a ~4 gallon tank. I had tried other heaters and prefer this one. I appreciate the very small size, and the built-in external thermostat which provides some peace-of-mind and means I don't need to add another piece of equipment (a thermometer) to a small tank.

Bad Suction

The suctions is terrible. Just a bit after installing it fell and completely broke, glass shattered all over the tank as well as the black powder inside. Luckily, the fish wasn't inside yet. I do not recommend using the suction included because it works horribly .
