This is the perfect snow shovel for my son and his friends to use outside while building snow forts. They use it to pile up a hill of snow they can use to make snow balls and bricks. This shovel is very lightweight and easy for kids to handle. I can also use it myself for quick jobs, but it's not heavy duty or substantial enough to use often or for big jobs. The shovel is big and holds a lot of snow, but that also means it's heavy and the handle is not supportive enough for that. In fact, my handle is a bit loose and wobbly. I also feel like the blue shovel part will break off the handle if too much weight or pressure is placed on it. This is better suited to light jobs; I might use it in the fall to collect leaves since it holds a lot. At $25 it's not very expensive, so I feel the price is indicative of the quality. ... show more

It you need something that you can store in a small place, like the trunk of your car for emergency purposes, this might work for you. But In my opinion, it's not worthy of being a primary method of snow removal. A really good snow shovel has a sharper edge to get right up against the ground (usually concrete and such) but this one doesn't really have that. You can move some snow from your porch or walkway, but you'll be left with some that you can't move - which can be really slick, or turn to ice if temps drop. I like that this is easy to take apart and put back together, but it it isn't very ergonomically friendly. ... show more

We have been looking for a good snow shovel that also breaks down. Currently we have a small apartment and anything that be collapsed is perfect just to save space during the no snow months. The quality of the shovel is nice - exactly what we were looking for. Definitely recommend.

3 out of 5 stars for home use, but 5 out of 5 stars as an emergency item. 3/5 stars isn't a bad rating...it just means that this is an average product for its intended use as stated in the product description. First let's start with the good things about this snow shovel. I love the modularity and the fact that it's easy to assemble and disassemble. I also like that it's light weight and that the plastic scooper/shovel part also seems like it's pretty well made. Now the bad...Unfortunately, to me the handle doesn't feel like it's secured enough for long-term heavy-duty use. This would be perfect as an emergency shovel for my car because of its size and storability but it wouldn't be my first or second choice to shovel my driveway, stairs and sidewalk. I have been looking for big shovel recently, and quality is honestly better at HD or Lowe's with deeper scoop than this. I thought at 48" would be the same, but no. This is shallower, and a less robust shovel. They are twice the price tho. Since I don't use much, this is a good alternative. Quite a strange shovel to be honest. They used filmsy plastic scoop, but smartly protect its edge from getting destroyed by using aluminum slide. The problem is, they haven't bolstered its connecting points. The pole is aluminum with padded foam to give comfort, but again plastic connectors. The grip is plastic, and not padded. I guess they assumed that user will use gloves anyways. This shovel has a few qualities that my old shovel doesn't. The handle is angled up which allows you to push with effect. It's made of this super hard plastic and the metal end is wedged in with design. My last shovel didn't have this and I lost the silver edge causing the plastic shovel to bend. It is snow shovel can get the job done but not get the job comfortably. I am a bit dissatisfied with its design. It is not ergonomic. As you can see my picture, show shovel handle and shovel head are on the same line. It is so flat and it didn't reduce efforts on shoveling heavy snow. The handles, though sturdy, lack the ergonomic support needed to reduce muscle strain during prolonged use. Shoveling snow with this tool, unfortunately, resulted in discomfort and fatigue, which is not what I anticipated from a product that boasts an ergonomic design. ... show more
