I bought this after the big snow storm we had in the beginning of January 2026. Snowblowers were nowhere to be found around my way after the big snow storm. Everyone was sold out and not sure when they would get them in. I wanted Ariens so I looked here. I wasn't sure about buying something so big and expensive on Amazon. Cutler's in Utah was the seller and their price shipped was the same price I could buy it for here locally if it were available ($2k) Cutler's was great at communicating and setting up delivery (7 days) and delivered via Saia trucking. Everything went smoothly. I joked that since I had my snowblower, now it wouldn't snow for 3 years. Well it was a little over 3 weeks later. The Blizzard of 2026 hit here in New Jersey. 20 inches of wet heavy snow. And the Ariens 28 Deluxe SHO kicked a$$. It went right through it. My neighbors snow blower was struggling with the deep snow. I was pleasantly surprised. Easy to start and run. I suggest using ethanol free gas if it's available in your area. But if not run Sta-Bil fuel additive. If you can find one get it. Well worth it. Get the SHO version as it's perfect for heavy wet snow. I see it's sold out again. Good luck. ... show more

    • Used twice.. now it won't start
We used the machine twice and it works great. But on the third time it stopped and we cannot get it to start. We watched many videos and tried many thing but it will not start. Of course it is under warranty since we have had it for only 3 months. But all warranty service locations have a 3 wk waiting list to get service. Why would someone spend nearly $2000 for a snow blower and in January be told it would take at least 3 weeks to look at it? But from a local Dealer! UPDATE: The designated warranty shop said that Ariens is difficult to deal with on warranty jobs. The NEW machine had a bad starter coil. It would be at least 3 weeks to get the part from China and the repair shop said they have seen it take 2 months. So they put in a part that was not from Ariens and I had to pay for the job. I really thought I was buying a quality machine. I sure wish I could return it! ... show more

    • Solid snow thrower
The media could not be loaded. I had the same Ariens model for almost 20 years, so a no brainer to replace with the same. The sho has the same size engine as my old model had which is why I upgraded. You need this power to move slush/wet snow in NH. The easy turn is a noticeable improvement. Starts easy, controls are accessible and it’s quieter than my old model. I’ve used it three times and am pleased with my choice. Shipping was easy. The shipper had a pallet jack and wheeled it into my garage. Assembly took about an hour at a relaxed pace. Ariens does a good job of keeping parts available so you can make these last with reasonable maintenance and repair. ... show more

Powerful snow blower, just what I needed here in Sault, Sainte Marie Michigan. We are on track for over 150 inches of snow this season. Shipped very quickly, and the seller was a good communicator, actually called me in advance to get delivery info.

    • Its a Beast..
Shortly after I purchased we had an early snowstorm in October here in Minnesota, and it was heavier snow. This thing cuts so well through the thick, wey/heavy stuff, and throws it with ease. The larger engine then most snowblowers this size definitely stands out. Auto steer takes a little bit to get used to, but it largely is easy to use. It may fight you a little bit at times, but overall makes this 300lb snowblower scoot around with ease. Very well built, mostly metal everywhere. I would agree with some other reviewers it almost goes too fast even on its slow settings, but unless you put this thing in a higher gear and expect it to plow through 16" of snow at once, this is more snowblower then most people would ever need. ... show more

    • This is a great snowblower
Delivered quickly, GREAT blower. Worth every penny. However, there is a pretty big (minor) flaw in it. The pull starter recoil is made of plastic, and less than 3 months into ownership that has already broken shattered. Along with that, the throttle/choke knobs are another source of woe. The Throttle knob is essentially a tube, with the choke going down the center of it. They freeze together quite easily, and when this happens if you go to throttle up, it chokes off the blower. Taken care of with a little hot water, but I've had this happen WHILE the blower running in sub-zero weather. C'mon Ariens. You should know better than to put plastic inside such a thing, especially when it's a machine designed for cold, when the plastic is quite brittle. ... show more
