Shortly after I purchased we had an early snowstorm in October here in Minnesota, and it was heavier snow. This thing cuts so well through the thick, wey/heavy stuff, and throws it with ease. The larger engine then most snowblowers this size definitely stands out. Auto steer takes a little bit to get used to, but it largely is easy to use. It may fight you a little bit at times, but overall makes this 300lb snowblower scoot around with ease. Very well built, mostly metal everywhere. I would agree with some other reviewers it almost goes too fast even on its slow settings, but unless you put this thing in a higher gear and expect it to plow through 16" of snow at once, this is more snowblower then most people would ever need. ... show more

    • The handles are crooked/wrong handles
Ariens makes an excellent snowblower. Unfortunately something is wrong with the whole handle assembly. It is terribly crooked and leans to the left. Trying to blow snow and walk behind it is very awkward. It came out of the box this way. I am hoping ariens had a solution to this or can send a knew assembly to correct this. I would love to give this 5 stars but their us a major problem right out if the box. I hope they will correct this issue. The issue was resolved by Ariens. They sent out the correct handle assembly and the snowblower works beautifully. ... show more

This is the second year using this snow blower. It starts easy ( love the electric start) and runs great. Just used it in 10" of wet snow, it ran on number two speed and cleared the driveway with ease even at the road where the plow build the snow up. Best snow blower I ever used.

    • This is a great snowblower
Delivered quickly, GREAT blower. Worth every penny. However, there is a pretty big (minor) flaw in it. The pull starter recoil is made of plastic, and less than 3 months into ownership that has already broken shattered. Along with that, the throttle/choke knobs are another source of woe. The Throttle knob is essentially a tube, with the choke going down the center of it. They freeze together quite easily, and when this happens if you go to throttle up, it chokes off the blower. Taken care of with a little hot water, but I've had this happen WHILE the blower running in sub-zero weather. C'mon Ariens. You should know better than to put plastic inside such a thing, especially when it's a machine designed for cold, when the plastic is quite brittle. ... show more
