Got two of these - one for my house and one for mom's. That gives us four batteries in case things take longer than usual. So far, we've been able to clear both the driveways without needing to change the batteries. These are tough reliable snowblowers and they really move the snow. They are easily assembled and easy to operate. I do recommend you read the user guides from cover to cover. The first time I cleared mom's driveway, I was done and had everything put away before she noticed I was there. This snowblower is very quiet, so you can get to work early in the morning. Finally got to use this thing a couple days ago. We got about 12 inches of wet “blue” snow. This snow blower managed my driveway, my two neighbors’ driveways, their sidewalks, and my sidewalk (I live at the end of a cul-de-sac) with no issues at all. I kept it on turbo the whole time. Batteries lasted the whole time. It’s easy to use. It’s also a heavy machine, which helps push through the snow. Material wise, no issues. The snowblower came on a tractor trailer via FedEx. I opened the box and had the handle, and the discharge chute, installed without needing any tools, in about 10 minutes! NOTE: It did take a while for the batteries to get to temperature before they would charge. I already own an EGO lawn mower. It is almost comical how light and easy it is to use. I needed a snowblower but was concerned with, how can this possibly be as powerful as a gas-powered mower? This snow blower is, and is ridiculously powerful, quiet, lightweight, easy to maneuver and very much worth it! I am in Northern-Maine, and we average well over 9 feet of snow each winter. Overnight was about 5" of snow. I cleared the driveway and cut a double wide path around the house. When I finished, the batteries were still at 80% capacity! I cleared the snow off the blower outside with a small handheld broom. Then I pulled the blower up my 4 steps and onto my enclosed porch. I do not have a shed, or garage. and this snowblower is narrow enough to easily fit though back door opening to mudroom. The blower does come with a couple extra shear pins. I would recommend getting additional shear pins to have on hand as/when needed. Think about this: You will never need to buy gas, oil, change a sparkplug, filter, clear a gas line, do a tune up, drain fluids with this very awesome EGO machine. Also, if you do plan on storing the snowblower outside (no shed or garage...) remember to remove batteries after each use, to bring them indoors. This way the batteries won't get too cold being outside for prolonged period, where you would have to then bring them inside and wait for them to get up to temperature, before the charger will engage. The EGO batteries and machines I have, including this one, work great with good power and design. The second stage threw the snow quite a ways and once I got used to the controls and how it worked in practice, I liked it much better than my prior gas snowblower. It's so nice not having to get and treat gas and deal with spark plugs, oil changes, belts, etc. My one quibble is I would have liked to be able to buy chains designed for the tires but chains aren't recommended. ... show more

Pros: It’s battery powered so quieter and no issues with starting. It does throw snow high and far. It clears my 80 foot driveway with power to spare; I’m 4 stars happy with it. Cons: The batteries are heavy and awkward to pull out for charging. They recommend not charging below 40 F so I lug them up to the house for charging and storage between storms. Working the controls is a bit of a juggle. If your drive is sloped as mine is beware that the machine may not stop moving when you release the speed lever; it could roll down the hill on its own unless you restrain it. I once slipped and fell trying to halt it. IMHO the design should incorporate an auto brake but one that can be released when you want to move the machine without motor assist. Overall I think the machine is not as rugged as the gas one it replaced. That said, it will likely last longer than I will; I’m 84. I have many other Ego tools and they are well designed but a tad fragile. ... show more

I was hesitant as I always used gas blowers. Easy to put together; super easy to follow instructions and use it. Lightweight. Took me a few times to tweak it and learn. Battery life is great and easy to push especially as I get older. I had a fully charged battery and did my driveway; my walk ways; the sidewalks and my neighbors with one battery charge. Not sure amount of driveway but I have it wrapped around the back of my house too for a detached garage so plenty of driveway. The power/performance are great too!! And boy does it scrape down as low as you want. Best part a simple button to start and no gas smells!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! A must for heavy snow areas! Haven't assembled, but it's an easy put together. Delivery was awesome the driver put it right into my garage. I have peace of mind because my old craftsman gas blower wouldn't start during our April Blizzard. I have the 21 inch ego that I ordered from Amazon . Between my neighbor and his gas blower and my ego the driveway was done. No more lugging my gas blower out of the garage, no more storing fuel, no more fumes and risking a heart attack pulling a corded blower that won't start!! Get your ego, and enjoy winter again. Works well for a 6 car driveway without needing to charge the batteries. First test was the two heavy storms last year >12”, handled it without a problem. Quiet and low maintenance compared to the gas blowers. Fairly light weight and can be handled by just about anybody.
