I ordered this coop knowing ahead of time I would be painting it to match the coop I already have for my chickens. My flock is a merger of 2 different groups of chickens and I bought it to promote peace. This coop was easy to put together and move to the designated area. I placed this coop inside a closed and covered run, but the chickens would not use it until it was elevated on 2 rows of cinderblocks for height. They did not like being on the ground. On super cold nights, it has become the preferred coop, even though my other coop is larger. I did add a horizontal 2 x 4 across the center of the mid-section-end to end and anchored it on the ends. I ended up removing the dividers on both ends as my large black chickens would push them crooked trying to get in the cubby to lay eggs. So far it's doing pretty well. One of the roof hinges did bend and break but I like using one hinge better anyway. We did drill 4 one inch holes on each end of the center upper section for more ventilation. I would buy this coop again in spite of having to slightly modify it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We received this quickly! For the assembly, it came with a little L tool, which would not have worked. You need a drill. Some on the pre-fab holes are not even. The instructions were good! The size is perfect for our planned 3 ducks! There is a hardware cloth covering in the main compartment that I needed to reinforce with staples, if there was weight on it, the sides would rise up. Which concerns me for injury of the ducks. I did have to seal some holes with spray foam. The roof is waterproof. It seems sturdy enough! I’m unsure about how long it will last, and clean ability. I will update when we have used it for a while! ... show more

Materials appear to have been damaged and touched up before being shipped. Packaging was perfect. Mismatched paint and scuffs / front door isn't straight despite how it's angled and screwed in. It says you need multiple people to put it together, but I did it alone. Took a while with just one person and a screwdriver. 2 people and a drill and you could zip through it a lot quicker. Definitely functional not sure for how long though. ... show more

One beginner to another, don’t get this one. We have only had it for a few months and it’s already falling apart. I knew it was a prefab and they are cheap but this one is horrible. If I could get a refund I would. Spend the extra money and go to big r or tractor supply for a prefab. We polyurethaned this and it’s still chipping, parts are breaking, and the wood is splitting. The roof has warped with a mix of rain and bent cheap hinges. One even snapped. The flooring isn’t even metal it’s like foil and scratches off when cleaning the coop. The nesting beds are small and bigger chickens like our Orpingtons fit snuggly and it’s too tight. We had to add additional predator proofing too. Was happy at first but now that it is weathering terribly with polyurethane even, wish I wouldn’t have gotten it for the price. Not worth it. Don’t make the beginner mistake we did buying this, even as a temporary coop. ... show more
