My building uses these little 125kHz fobs, and the front office wanted an arm and a leg to cut spares. A ten pack of these cost less than one official copy, so the math made the decision for me. Performance has been flawless. They read instantly at the panel every time, no double taps, no holding it there waiting for a beep. As far as the reader is concerned they are just another fob. The build is a simple sealed plastic teardrop on a keyring loop, and that simplicity is a strength. There is nothing to wear out, no battery, no contacts to corrode. They have been riding around on a keychain and bouncing into pockets without a scratch that affects function. The blue color is the quiet hero here. When everyone in the house has identical black fobs, having a distinct color to label and hand out saves real confusion. Two things to know up front. These are EM4100 read only tags at 125kHz, so they hold a fixed ID and are great as duplicates of a compatible system, but they are not the rewritable kind and they will not work with 13.56MHz readers. Check what frequency your system uses before ordering. For spares, hobby projects, or just keeping a backup in a drawer, the value is hard to beat. ... show more

Not able to program them. Not sure if it is the tags or the device but the device is am using is working on the cards so the problem could be from the tags themselves

They work but you have to be touching the part of the lock that receives the signal. The cards I bought work just by holding it in the general area.

Recieved as expected. These seem to be very durable and well made. Only problem was that the rfid code printed on the fob did NOT match the actual rfid code. Spent a good hour trying out all 10 on our Facepass7 timeclock. Then I had to read the code manually for each employee with the time clock itself. A bit of a pain but worth the price. ... show more
