This was the perfect solution to a problem of a dangerously inaccessible whole house water shut off valve. A client"s whole house water shut off valve was located in a utility tiny closet which contained the unit's large hot water heater AND the unit's heating unit. The water shut off valve was tucked away in a rear corner of the utility closet. The previous owner had left a stout dowel with a block of wood at one end to be fished between the above mentioned shut off. Bet previous owner NEVER had to shut off the water in a hurry. My solution was to locat the exact spot on the outside wall that aligned with the shut off valve's location; carefully cut through the outer and inner sheetrock walls. The "hardest" part of the project was finding the exact location of the shut off valve. Once that was done, I CAREFULLY traced the outline of the INNER lip of the hatch: carefully cut through outer and inner walls aware of the exact location of the shut off valve. Once the hole was cut into the outer wall, the inner wall was next. This 12"x12" plumbing access panel finished the project. Matching the size of the hole to the size of the frame's inner lip(on the backside of the door) allows a nice, snug fit. Apply construction adhesive to the inside of he frame, slip the access panel into the hole in the wall. Wipe off glue squeeze out. Access door's (white) finish can be left unpainted or painted any color. This plastic access panel assembly is solid plastic. inserting it restores the "structural integrity" of the wall. This is a Chinese copy of an American product. Price is considerably cheaper than the American made panel. Sorry to say, the quality is equal to the American product. The "hardest" part of this project was measuring, locating and cutting the correctly sized hole. (sad to say) I recommend this non American made item. ... show more

I ended up using this panel door to get access to the dryer vent hose behind the dryer. I had built a wooden shelf around the dryer which o e side was wood and the other side was up against a wall. So trying to get the vent hose on and then push dryer back was a challenge. So I cut a hole in the wood and put this panel in place and it made the job so much easier. I didnt even glue it in place, it fit like a glove. The price was good for the size and its a good quality product. It was straight, no warping and the door open and closed easily and had equal spacing on all 4 sides. I give it 5☆'s ... show more

I sold my previous washer and dryer set and purchased a new set. My old shut offs for the hot and cold did not shut off completely so I had to do some plumbing work. I wanted to keep my plumbing work easily accessible so I purchased this access door. It worked out great in our laundry room, I put a little knob on it to make it easier to open so I don’t have to use a screwdriver to pry it open, and scratch up the paint.
