This is a pretty simple access panel to install, as long as it's going into open sheetrock / drywall (where you don't have a stud right at the edge of your opening. I like that it hinges and it's made of a decently thick plastic so it's not flimsy at all. Occasionally it was a little hard to open, but I'd rather have that then it falling open on its own. A simple butter knife into the seam helps to pop it open (just make sure it's the correct side you're opening and not trying to pry open the hinge side). I'm very pleased with it. ** Please note that the review had an option for "adhesion" and I gave it 5 stars--it DOES NOT come with any adhesion; you have to caulk the back and press it against the drywall. Once you do that and let it sit, it adheres really well. I'd recommend white or clear caulk, as the product is white and will look better. A Recommended Buy

I bought this to cover my pipe and valve in the wall that connects to my spigot outside. It fit perfectly. The plastic door does come out of the hinge too easily. It's easy to take the door off but it will come off if you just have it open. They should have made it a bit better. You can pop the door open with a coin or screwdriver. It serves my purpose because I don't use the valve except in winter / spring to shut the water on and off. If you put this somewhere that is frequently used then this may not work as the door will keep coming all the way off when opened because the hindged area doesn't hold it in the groove well. I'm not painting this as it's in a closet..but they have it textured so it seems like if painted it would blend well with the existing wall.

I purchased this access panel to cover a hole I had to make in my wall to snake wires into my home. Since I need to be able to access the area to add or remove wires I wanted something that would allow me to close the hole but still open it easily. I laid this against the wall and traced the inside of the access square. When I cut the hole in the drywall I cut on the outside of the line. This allowed the frame to fit snugly in the wall. I used heavy duty construction adhesive around the perimeter of the frame and spread it out with a popsicle stick. I made sure to get the glue on both the flat frame as well as a small amount on the side of the frame. Once I pressed the frame into the wall, the glue filled in any imperfections in the cut of the drywall. After a few minutes I placed the door into the frame. The look is a much cleaner look instead of just having a piece of sheetrock screwed to the wall.

I used this panel (I used a closet) to give me access to an upstairs bath! It gave me added peace of mind being able to access this plumbing. Ultimately, it saved me a lot of time and work! It was easy to install. I was very pleased! Highly recommend!
