  • The snow blower itself is excellent. I ended up having to pick mine up ...
Size: 24 in
24" model. Just a heads up the 24" model ships by freight. They have to call you to schedule an appointment. If I were to order one again I would call YARDMAX, don't email, and get a waybill number right away. Don't wait. The snow blower itself is excellent. I ended up having to pick mine up from CEVA and unloaded it by pushing it off my truck onto a snow pile. Everything was in good shape in the package and undamaged. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble, the most difficult being the chute flange/ retainers (really not bad). I did it in my driveway. It starts easily. The shifter leaver moves with little effort and all of the gear, positions, work. I use a Toro 724 at work and, to me, the YARDMAX throws snow further as well as cuts through large mounds of snow easier. I would buy this over a 724 even at the same price. Mine didn't come with oil and it needs a little choke on hot restarts. Pros: Light weight, metal chute, set throttle, great gas shut off valve location easy to start, throws snow almost too far, 7hp blower for $500 shipped! Cons: Metal snow blower shoes, ... show more

  • Needs improvements
Size: 24 in
I live in WV at the base of Snowshoe Ski area. Retired now so do not need to plow every morning it snows, so I replace a 9.9 hp yardman 26 inch blower with this one. Generally works well, it is smaller and slower but works well. The problem is the plastic Chute Crank Flange is not heavy enough for hard use with cranking the chute around a lot. In really cold weather it ices up and the plastic gears will not last long. Would be a 4 or 5 with a metal flange ... show more

  • CEVA delivery date means nothing.
Size: 24 in
Other than some issues with CEVA this is a great product so far. Had it delivered to work (more on this later), which was helpful because it comes on a pallet and a fork lift makes things much easier to move around. The Pallet and box were undamaged. I pulled the box off of the pallet and the snow blower was sitting in parts. Assembly was simple, the vacuum packed fasteners were handy. In total it took me about 20 minutes to get it together. To put it together I advice having a full set of Metric open/box end wrenches and a full set of 1/4" and 3/8" drive metric sockets, or at least 10mm, 13mm and 16mm. A set of ratcheting box end wrenches would have come in handy for the handle to transmission bolts and the chute retaining nuts/bolts. The engine owners manual lays out engine care as directed by LCT, who recommends full synthetic 5w-30 oil for operation in all temperatures, but allows for other weights depending on the temperature. I initially set the scraper a little high so there was a good bit of snow still on the ground after running it, a ratchet made quick work of that error and I was throwing snow. Like all two stage blowers it doesn't directly scrape the ground with it's auger, so ice/compacted snow is not it's forte, which since it came after the first two snow falls of the year became somewhat of a problem. Fuel consumption was pretty good, the tank takes about half a gallon and it hadn't run out by the time I was done clearing the snow and some of the ice off of my driveway. Another review mentioned the lack of welds, but my experience was quite the opposite. The joint between the auger cylinder and the transmission had 2" long welds, which were a bit too hot but otherwise not bad, spaced about every 45 degrees around the circumference, this is similar to how my parents Ariens is constructed. Likewise the sheet steel was around 18-20 gauge steel, which is comparable to my parents Ariens. Overall, from a construction standpoint, with the exception of the paint colors I'd be hard pressed to tell a difference between this and an Ariens. I ordered this Dec. 4th and scheduled delivery for Dec. 15th. My job allows employees to have freight items shipped to the main facility and they'll sign for it and use the fork lift to pull it off whatever vehicle it comes on, so I had it shipped to the main facility. Since I wasn't working at the main facility I failed to get the post card from CEVA asking me to schedule a delivery date, but as I'd scheduled on Amazon when I bought it I assumed that it would be delivered at that time. Aside from the post card no attempt was made by CEVA to contact me about delivery. Now, had I been working at that facility, maybe I would have gotten it in time for the second snow fall and reduced the amount of ice pack on my driveway. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it so far. ... show more

  • Great value
Size: 24 in
This works great. It throws better than I expected & is quite solid. I opted for the known engine (lct) over an unknown to me one. I minused one star for the ease of breaking the shear pins, but this isn't a flaw. It threw heavy wet snow fine but clogged quickly however I don't see anything else working any better. I'd definitely recommend this blower. I can load it in my truck without assistance but wouldn't recommend it. Very pleased with price, delivery (no issues at all), & ease of operation. Recommend you have extra shear pins, it comes with two besides the installed ones. Took 30isher minutes to assemble, minimal tools. ... show more
