All the previous reviewers were right on... this camera is very sharp and clear. For an 81-year old, it was a bit complicated for me to set up, but a breeze for my middle son. After we cranked it up, I found that I can now watch the world go by from my easy chair, not my rocking chair (although I still use my rocking chair). A small bit of a learning curve on how to use it. I especially like the door "siren". It will wake the whole neighborhood, if not the dead. It's already scared the cat clean outta his skin and off our front porch. I know full well it'll do the same for any mischief-makers. The night is no challenge for the camera. Even with no porch light on, I can still see clearly all of our front yard, our cars, the cars that go by, the people walking by and yes, the cat. The ambient light (one street light and a few solar lights in our yard) provide enough light to look like daylight (really). I'm often up late at night... and now I feel much safer with this little gadget on hand. It is taking a bit of trial & error on how to set the intercom through the phone & camera, but we're making progress. I feel confident that that will be as good as the camera. Haven't yet needed to use the motion detector either. We'll see. Haven't used the cloud storage yet either. Likely won't either. All-in-all, I am totally tickled pink with this device. Delighted with its quality. Delighted with fast delivery. Delighted that I can both see and hear the cat. I have posted 4 pics from the doorbell... one full daylight >>> one at dusk (see car with headlights on >>> one with porch light off (full darkness) >>> one with porch light on (full darkness) PS... we don't have a cat. The neighborhood stray has chosen us to take up with us on our front porch. My wife feeds it. I have named it "Clapton", cause it has only one eye, like Jeremy's cat in "Zits" comic strip. Follow-up: Battery life seems to be fair so far. I have recharged it once since we received it, and it appears that it is holding its own. I'd buy this door cam again.

This is my second ring doorbell from XTU, I had the J9, and this is the upgraded J9 Plus. It's also a doorbell that doesn't require a subscription, just needs an SD card. It has 180° coverage, more than the previous 166° coverage. The setup was extremely easy. Just removed the previous device from the same app and added the new one, followed the instructions, and it was connected! So it's very user friendly. The feed from the camera seems more vibrant in color and sharp than it was on the previous model, and does have more coverage. I can tell it captures more because the side of the door frame shows now. So definitely good feed, captures on motion detection. The two way sound works perfectly so you can speak to someone at the door (slight lag but that's expected). The speaker that comes with it is a nice addition as well. I just keep it on my table. Same as the previous model, I opted for an SD card instead of paying for the cloud. Initially with the previous doorbell, the device helped me format it to work with it. This time, I just put it into this new doorbell and it was ready. So this was also seamless, very easy to save recordings without needing to subscribe! It seems to have a more powerful battery, so might last longer than the previous doorbell which lasted about 1 month on a full charge. I just installed it today so I don't know, but my guess is it'll be similar or last maybe 1 week more. Finally, in the photo you see the ring doorbell in one of those third-party case that attaches to the side of the door so you don't need to drill into your door. I show this so that you can see that the XTU camera doorbell is compatible with these as well! I'm extremely happy with the doorbell. 100% recommended!! I'll continue using XTU products for sure!

I am impressed with this doorbell. I do really like it. I am only giving it four stars because of the app. I feel it isn't the most user-friendly app. Otherwise, I'd definitely give five stars instead. Anyway, I highly recommend this doorbell camera.

I ordered this doorbell cam recently. I’m in love with the quality of the hardware and how sturdy it feels. The setup on my phone was not the fastest, but it’s self-explanatory. You just have to follow all the linking instructions to have your camera linked to your phone. The image displayed wasn’t as I expected because it displays the whole round frame, which makes more sense if you want to see extra corners around your doorway with a wide-angle view. I like the fact that you can record on your phone without having to insert an SD card in the camera itself. And yes, it does have an SD card slot if you want automatic recording for motion detection. Overall, I like this thing.

I would give these more stars if available! For the price, they are incredible little doorbell cameras! The picture quality and night vision are both perfection and the ease of use and installation is better than most $$$ doorbell cameras that we have purchased! I can’t recommend these enough!

Works alright. The detection area is not great.. will only detect when someone is right at the camera. I do have the sensitivity set as high and it can be and the detection line set, but that doesn’t matter. The speaker is not great., pretty muffled. The picture is good.

I've been using the J9Plus Video Doorbell, and so far, I really like it! The initial setup was a bit touch-and-go, but once I got past that, everything has been smooth sailing. The video quality is excellent, and I love having the ability to see and communicate with visitors from my phone. I haven't encountered any issues so far, which is a huge plus. The features are easy to navigate, making it user-friendly. Overall, I highly recommend the J9Plus Video Doorbell for anyone looking to enhance their home security with a reliable video doorbell.
