We have been loving this video doorbell for the past few months. It gives me peace of mind and extra security. Installation was simple, once we figured out that the breaker for the doorbell is often on the same circuit as the air conditioner and furnace! It takes a little work to connect the wires at the door, and at the old chime in the house, but nothing too difficult. There are multiple different doorbell sound options and volume settings for the chime (which you just plug in, connect to the doorbell through the app, and go!). I love that we don’t need to pay a monthly subscription to have this extra layer of security (though there are additional services available for additional fees if desired). It is sleek and low profile, quality of the camera is decent in light or darkness. The position of the camera can be adjusted by using the included angled plate.     • Works just as described
I installed it myself, it should have taken me 10-20 minutes easy. But I had to find the correct switch in the basement (20mins), a philips screwdriver.... spent time finding the cordless drill in the garage (20mins), snap the cover together then screw on and place cover "correctly" (40 mins) onto the doorbell. I was more worried about putting hubby's tools back correctly before he came home from work, that it took me an hour and a half to finally complete the job, and have the bedroom closet light working again (who knew you have to turn the power back on for appliances to work). It looks correct, the power is back on, I did not figure out how to screw it up and burn the house down. I even taped the electrical wires to the door frame just to be cautious of not loosing them in the wall or who knows how I could mess it up in over thinking. The best part, it annoys my husband when he comes home or every time he leaves from the front door. "Can I help you with something?" :D The only issue I personally have is sometimes the bell changes. sometimes it is a normal ding dong, sometimes it is a simple ding, and other times it is a quiet chirp. If I am doing laundry at the back of the kitchen I do not hear the last two sounds, in the basement snooping on teens bedrooms or bathroom or taking a shower in our bathroom even with the bedroom door open. The teens do not appreciate being locked out of the house, but living out in a corn field I am not going to just leave the house unlocked as the country roads do get a decent amount of traffic during the day and evenings in rural Iowa & less children around at any given moment. Pro: Easy installation Directions are easy to follow Con: Doorbell sound changes Volume of doorbell changes with different bell tone. It's more than likely I did not read all of the information correctly due to my excitement to have this working as soon as possible. So I do not know how to change the settings for the bell, but I am not the one who is walking around it to have my motives questioned, and I am not the one who is locked out. Eventually I will look into it more, for now I am enjoying their frustration with it. ... show more

    • Beware... WYZE does not stand behind its products and offereings
This video door bell has been barely adequate to the task of consistently maintaining connectivity to the router and chime. Every time that there is a software update (aka new product pitch), the camera/doorbell settings return to default. WYZE has been aware of the problem for years but chooses to ignore it in favor of newer models (that also exhibit chronic connectivity issues). As for "offerings", WYZE failed to honor a 2024 Black Friday sale advertised through its phone APP - this after numerous exchanges with multiple customer service reps. who received screenshots of the purchase failure related to Amazon Pay. ... show more
