Great product. I very happy with my purchase. It works very well for my stock tank pool and I'm Sure it would work well for larger setups. The output water has a strong flow. Made very well. The set up took about an hour. It was a little frustrating to not have connection instructions, that was kind of a guessing game where tubes went. I believe it’s because being a universal pump, different pools have different inlet and outlets. We have two holes for pumps, where some have only one. There seems to be a lot of power to this pump and the water is definitely moving well. I think it’s neat that it has the timer function so we can set it to start and stop so that it does not need to run continuously like our old pump. This is only day one so I cannot comment on durability until we’ve run it a season, or at least for a few weeks. We have a skimmer attached and that seems to be working well with the pump. We opted to use sand, but I believe you can use filter balls. We have an 18 foot easy set pool and this seems to filter the water sufficiently..

This has been in for a couple days now and seems to be operating just fine. No leaks. What I like: It’s much quieter than I expected. It’s got decent power and seems to turn over the water efficiently. The timer is easy to use What I don’t like: THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE ABSOLUTE TRASH. The base plate is…I’m not even 100% sure it’s for this model but the pre-drilled holes didn’t exactly match up to the bolt pattern on the bottom of the pump. I did find one set that was close. Did I mention the instructions were a hot steaming pile of doo-doo? It tells you not to use any hose smaller than 40mm but the pump to filter interconnect hose is 1.25”. And the fittings give you the option for 1.25 or 1.50. Hoses with a threaded collar don’t work. I suppose either would work. It didn’t collapse my old 1.25 hose…yet. I’m taking off two stars just because the instructions are just SO bad.

The One Missing Piece: No Site Glass My only significant critique, and it's one that impacts convenience more than core performance, is the lack of a dedicated site glass to know when to backwash. For those unfamiliar, a site glass (or sight glass) is a small, clear window usually located on the multiport valve of a sand filter. It allows you to visually monitor the color of the backwash water. When the water turns clear, you know the sand is clean and you can stop the backwash cycle. Without this feature, I'm left guessing a bit. While I rely on the pressure gauge (backwashing when the pressure rises about 8-10 PSI above its clean reading) and a rough estimate of time, a visual confirmation would be incredibly helpful. It would prevent over-backwashing (saving water) or under-backwashing (ensuring optimal filtration). It's a small detail that makes a big difference in efficient maintenance. Final Verdict: Despite the absence of a site glass, the XtremePowerUS 13-inch sand filter pump is an excellent choice for maintaining a clean and clear above-ground pool. Its good quality, effective cleaning power, and competitive price, coupled with fast shipping, make it a highly recommended product. Excellent water pomp filter! I had the original one that my above ground pool brings and it wasn’t doing the job the way it should. After installing this one, I noticed the difference within approximately 2 hours. I wish I would’ve purchased it sooner. Definitely 5 stars! Totally recommended. The instructions on the manual are not great at all. However, there is an excellent video of how to assemble it on youtube that explains step by step on how you assemble it your self. The cord isn’t long enough so I had to purchase an 25ft outdoor extension cord with the correct power requirements at HomeDepot. For that I had to search on google the following: “can an extension cord be plugged in anxtremepowerus 13 maximum” and after typing that in, all the information on purchasing the correct extension cord came out. Also I purchased an additional protection for the water pump & the extension cord when connected together, although it says is for outdoor. The item is a small box that’s called “ Twist and seal cord protection” also at homedepot fot $5.95. Overall this has been a great purchase. Don’t forget to watch the youtube video if you want to assemble it correctly like i did.
