The set up took about an hour. It was a little frustrating to not have connection instructions, that was kind of a guessing game where tubes went. I believe it’s because being a universal pump, different pools have different inlet and outlets. We have two holes for pumps, where some have only one. There seems to be a lot of power to this pump and the water is definitely moving well. I think it’s neat that it has the timer function so we can set it to start and stop so that it does not need to run continuously like our old pump. This is only day one so I cannot comment on durability until we’ve run it a season, or at least for a few weeks. We have a skimmer attached and that seems to be working well with the pump. We opted to use sand, but I believe you can use filter balls. We have an 18 foot easy set pool and this seems to filter the water sufficiently..

Excellent water pomp filter! I had the original one that my above ground pool brings and it wasn’t doing the job the way it should. After installing this one, I noticed the difference within approximately 2 hours. I wish I would’ve purchased it sooner. Definitely 5 stars! Totally recommended. The instructions on the manual are not great at all. However, there is an excellent video of how to assemble it on youtube that explains step by step on how you assemble it your self. The cord isn’t long enough so I had to purchase an 25ft outdoor extension cord with the correct power requirements at HomeDepot. For that I had to search on google the following: “can an extension cord be plugged in anxtremepowerus 13 maximum” and after typing that in, all the information on purchasing the correct extension cord came out. Also I purchased an additional protection for the water pump & the extension cord when connected together, although it says is for outdoor. The item is a small box that’s called “ Twist and seal cord protection” also at homedepot fot $5.95. Overall this has been a great purchase. Don’t forget to watch the youtube video if you want to assemble it correctly like i did.

I used it for two months, worked great. Stored it in my garage, hooked it up next season and the buttons to change the timer and power on/off had quit working. Contacted seller and they said there's no way to fix the circuit board and there's no warranty. It was set to run 8 hours a day and was still turning on and off by itself so I let it go. Now it quit turning on at all, took it apart again and the capacitor cracked open. It says extremepowerUS but everything inside and out says China. Don't waste your money. Update: bought and installed a new capacitor, jumped across the start switch on the circuit board to get the pump started and it ran fine for about an hour then shut off. Jumped it again, same thing. Now nothing. This thing is trash

UPDATE, 3 years later: Me and this pump have been through a lot but she’s still kicking. A few times I thought she was dead but I’d pop a new fuse in and just like that she’s fired up and running. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions, upgrade plastic fittings and cheap hoses, flush her out regularly and treat her like a lady and she’ll be the best money you spend on an above ground pool filter. For the price, it’s pretty decent. Be patient assembling it, and know you’ll need to make a trip to the store to get what else you need. I recommend swapping the plastic hose clamps out for metal ones, and upgrade the hoses from the pool to the pump to a thicker hose (pool stores have them and will cut them down to your needed size) to improve suction. Also, get a T valve if you have 2 inlets going from the pool to the pump. This will bring the 2 inlets into one line into the filter and most come with a shut off so you can easily stop water from coming into the pump/filter when you need to clean it. Make sure you turn it back on before you run your pump again! My first one burned up/had an electrical issue and they did replace it which I appreciated. It has a built in timer so you can set up when/how long you want it to run every day and also has manual controls. I was even able to run a basic pool vacuum with it, although it’s easier to get a battery unit that runs independently.

-First of all, assembly is super easy! -order yourself some ball valve adapters if your pool hoses don't have them built in. -filter capability is awesome, took our pool from cloudy to clear in less than 12 hours. We struggled with factory equipped pool filters, changing them every two to three days, this eliminated that. -flow out of the pump is more than enough to run a waterfall if you want. •CONS• -There is no valves on the inlets and outlets, I suggest some ball valve adapters so you can do your backwash and rinse more effectively. -order up at least 12 foot hoses, as NO hoses are supplied. -If you're installing this on a above ground pool set up in a grass yard, I'd suggest a platform to keep grass from getting near the motor.

Great product. I very happy with my purchase. It works very well for my stock tank pool and I'm Sure it would work well for larger setups. The output water has a strong flow. Made very well. Pump was surprisingly easy to set up and easy to use and clean. Timmer was very easy to program. Runs and filters the water great.

straight out of the box, the pump did not work. customer support told me to check the fuse and battery. the fuse was blown. why ship your product with a blown fuse?!?!?!?!? i tried six places before i found the right fuse. it is working well now... but really?!?!? why send something that you know isn't working. so, to follow up further. it took a couple days to get the original one working. in the meantime they sent me a replacement for the original at no charge. it works. the whole pump and filter combo is perfect for my application. 1000 gallon stock tank used as a pool.

Bought back in july, really easy to put together an pushes put a ton of water. Gets my water clear in less than a day. Pump went out after a month of use but they were great enough to send me a whole new pump! Very classy of them an very much appreciated!
