This is the perfect replacement for our 5500 gal. above-ground pool! We decided to get this one which is less than half the price of what the pool store wanted for their cheapest one! Easy setup, super quiet pump, and sturdy valve! Tips for newbies: 1) If you are unsure of how to replace your setup, consult Youtube. The manual is not user-friendly if you are unsure of what you’re doing. 2) Make sure a friend is around to help. Moving your old filter with 100lb of sand in it is not a one-person job! 3) make sure you add water to the new filter after you add the sand and prime the new pump (don’t start the pump without water in it). 4) The laterals on this one don’t fold up. You’re gonna have to assemble them while they are in the filter. 5) MOST IMPORTANT: this does not come with the hose adapters to connect the hoses to the valve! The valve uses standard 1 1/2 inch inlet/outlet adapters. Either use your old ones or if this is replacing a smaller unit, you will need these, (you need 3). 6) Make sure to put plumbers tape on each adapter that you put in the valve to seal it and prevent leakage. That’s it, we are enjoying our pool for another season!

I have had this pump for only 2 years. This year it is leaking and will not hold a prime. I have made several attempts to contact XtremepowerUS to order parts, I’m hoping it’s just the O-rings. They do not offer a phone number or chat, only email. So they finally sent me a link to their parts page. But when I click on the link I see all parts are grayed out and cannot be purchased. I also noticed that parts for their other pumps are also grayed out and cannot be purchased. So I emailed them several more times but got no response. The O rings have to be a specific size and I have not been able to find them in any pool supply companies, hardware stores or Amazon. So my only option is to buy a new pump. I would strongly suggest not buying from XtremepowerUS since you can’t get parts or customer service.

Purchased through pool a couple weeks ago due to my filter not pushing enough water. My pool is 24ft x 52in and we couldn't get the cloudy water to clear, after boats of $$ in chemicals we decided to upgrade the pump... let me tell ya it took less than 2 days to get the water crystal clear again!!! I am beyond pleased with this pump!!! Durable, Affordable, great quality and easy to assemble!!

We got this in the middle of May and I've waited to write a review to ensure that it works well. We purchased this for a 22 x 52 above ground, soft sided pool after reading comments in a Facebook group regarding size of pump needed for this type of pool. Although the specs say otherwise, most comments indicated that this size pump is really the best option for a pool this size. I'm glad we went with this one because it's the first time we've had crystal clear water since we purchased the pool several years ago. The filter style pump that comes with those pools is often too small to really keep things clear unless you're rinsing it out several or more times per day. Even then, we still had difficulty keeping things clear. We chose to use filter balls rather than sand and have found that they are working really well. The pump, obviously, doesn't take the place of good chemical balance, but it certainly solved are main problem of constant cloudy water. No issues with the pump at all and we also purchased a cover for the motor through Amazon as the motor cannot sit out in the rain.

This filter is plenty powerful enough and easy to setup. Any buyers should beware that the kit is sent with only one adapter for the included hose rendering the pump unusable until a second is purchased separately. It doesn't make sense that the manufacturer would intentionally send it out to comsumers missing that adapter.

This thing is awesome! Really keeps the pool clean and only have to run it for a few hours a day. Took some planning to install but if you have some basic skills anyone could install this. Easy to put together pretty self explanatory. It's much bigger than the original filter but that a good thing. It can actually keep up with filtering the water, while running for much less time. Saving money on power and chemicals. Pretty stout construction. Works as it should. Very impressed.
