Easy swap out, works great. The Bestway pump that came with our pool didn't really do the job. Had to run it several hours a day just to keep up. After a month it started tripping it's circuits and shutting down after running for a few minutes. Swapped it out for this unit and confirmed my suspicion on the under powered original unit. I recently purchased a pool pump and filter system with high hopes of keeping my pool crystal clear and pristine throughout the swimming season. Unfortunately, my experience with this product has been quite disappointing. Upon arrival, I discovered that the unit had a broken piece, rendering it unusable. However, to their credit, the seller promptly replaced the broken piece with a whole new unit. Initially, I was impressed by their responsiveness and commitment to customer satisfaction. However, my optimism quickly faded when the replacement unit ceased to function after just three weeks of use. Despite my best efforts to troubleshoot and resolve the issue, the pump and filter simply refused to work properly. This sudden failure left me frustrated and disheartened, especially considering the time and money invested in the product. While it's true that this pump and filter system comes at a relatively affordable price point, it's clear that quality and durability were sacrificed in the pursuit of cost-effectiveness. As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for," and in this case, the adage rings true. I would caution potential buyers against wasting their time and resources on this product, as it ultimately failed to deliver on its promises. Read the reviews and trust when it says the fuses go out. We even tried to repair the unit by replacing the fuse and it blew right away. Then to make it worse, the only way to get a refund was to dump the 100 pounds of sand out of the filter and pack the entire unit up and send it back to Amazon. Product works as expected. This was a great upgrade to our 12x 20 above ground pool. has plenty of suction all season long. I initially tried the filter balls, which worked well for a little while and the suction was very good. Changed over to sand and the pool water stayed clean all season, much better than the filter balls did. Very easy to work and the timer setting was very helpful. The noise level was very nice. Can hardly hear it from the other side of the pool and on the side of the pool that it sits on, you can have a conversation without having to worry about speaking louder to hear the other person. I definitely would recommend anyone that has the standard little pool pump and filter that comes with their pool, to upgrade to one of these. ... show more
