If you have a above ground pool you need this pump. Stop fooling around with the toy pump that came with the pool and get something like this that moves a ton of water, has great pressure and built to last. We had purchased a large cartridge filter at a yard sale but it lacked a pump. Well after some debate i landed on this one and am i glad i did. This thing is quiet, so quiet compared to the original pump. And it works 4 times better. Its so quiet that i had to put a small ball in the strainer so i could tell it was running. Cuz the only noise i heard was a hum like a machine on standby but its really pumping and with great suction and pressure.

Nice quiet pump. Works great and was a good price. I use it for my pool which is about 9000 gallons. Very easy to install doesn't come with connectors. Which the threads are on the inside.

The media could not be loaded. i gave this max stars after the first month as it was working well , now a year later im changing it . it works and does its job but its longetivity is horrible- i bought this Aug -19 , its now Sept 20 - i used it for 3 months last year an 2 this year and its howling like a banshee with a bad bearing ... i came here to find warranty information ( which i couldn't find ) and looked through all purchase materials , there part list doesn't even list a bearing. 4 an half months use for a 100 bucks and no easy way to fix or replace problems i imagine there is better options out there which i will use to replace this pump . edit again - since writing this a few days ago , the pump is dead

Size: 3/4HP Above-Ground Pool Pump
This is good strong pump. Most of the design is quite good, with one exception. The outlet is too close to the cap over the basket. There isn't room for a standard straight screw on connector or adaptor. The molded hex pattern for a wrench to tighten the pipe is wide enough to interfere with removing the basket cap. I had to use an elbow that screwed in and when it was tight it aimed over the basket cap which is also not good. Many many many wraps of Teflon tape caused it to tighten a 1/4 turn early so it aimed to the side and does not interfere with the cap. If the pipe where a 1/4" further away from the basket cap there would not be a problem. The basket to collect debris before getting into the impeller makes the installation frustration worth while. Otherwise it is a good, solid & quiet pump. I use it on a 3000 gal gold fish pond and the sticks, acorns and other miscellaneous debris getting into a pump's impellers has always been a huge hassle requiring disassembly of the pump.

The media could not be loaded. One of the best pumps I have ordered. I currently have 2 one stopped working to pump, but the fix is super easy and takes 5 minutes first you remove the 6 #2 Phillip head bolt held on with a 10mm nut then you separate the plastic black shroud from the motor. Clean out all and any debris and put the housing back into the notches with the small hole on the bottom and put the screws back. Easy peasy. Tighten down and reconnect no need to remove the plumbing or hose then you restart and it works did that to both my pumps and now they work again and I have back up. The first pump I've had for a year and this second pump a month. I could right a bad review on how they assembly quality was bad but over all dam well worth the price and the output it provides. Supper happy!

If you look at the advert for this product it shows a .75 HP motor but the pump shows .45 HP THP on the top of control box. Odd choice to limit the motor to .45HP but advertise it as 3/4. Technically yes. Its a 3/4 HP motor but that's NOT what your getting. Anyway. This is the second one I've gotten. We thought the old on we had died last summer after a lightning storm blew our GFCI outlet and then it the motor wouldnt turn over. Turns out that it had just sat for too long. Brought it in and manually turned it over and it started right back up. Pulled THIS one in for the winter and just reinstalled it. Didn't work so we put the old on back on. Brought this one in and gave it a manual turn over. Again. Started right up. I guess I'm good to go on pool pumps for a few years... Its cheap but works fairly well for a small Intex pool. Just don't believe that its a .75HP system. ONLY the motor is rated for .75. They REALLY should fix that.
