  • Well worth the money
If you have a above ground pool you need this pump. Stop fooling around with the toy pump that came with the pool and get something like this that moves a ton of water, has great pressure and built to last. We had purchased a large cartridge filter at a yard sale but it lacked a pump. Well after some debate i landed on this one and am i glad i did. This thing is quiet, so quiet compared to the original pump. And it works 4 times better. Its so quiet that i had to put a small ball in the strainer so i could tell it was running. Cuz the only noise i heard was a hum like a machine on standby but its really pumping and with great suction and pressure. ... show more

  • 16' x 10' above ground pool
I have been running this for almost a month and here I can confidently say as of now this pump is pretty great. I mounted it to a piece of wood. I bought some adapters to run it with my sand filter and it works great. During these 100 degree days I have it covered with a thick piece of flexible plastic to keep some sun and heat off and to keep it dry but on occasion it does auto shut off because it gets to hot. The only downside is there is not a timer switch but that is a small price to pay for how well it works. ... show more

  • Works fine.
This pump works fine and fits the hoses that came with the original unit. The manufacturer says it is the replacement pump for my filter and pump combo, but it does not fit the plastic stand. It also lacks the built in timer and power switch. The cord doesn't have the GFCI plug that comes with the original. Otherwise it's good. ... show more

  • Powerful pump, works good and affordable.
Needs additional filter in strainer would make water cleaner.

  • The Specs on this pump are Wrong
I bought this pump to replace a 3/4 HP pump for my in ground pool. My existing pump was rated at 3/4 HP and it drew 12.6 Amps at 110V. The spec on this pump says it draws 3.6A, so it is really 1/4 the power of my previous pump. But it is advertised as a 3/4Hp pump! What ever they are measuring, it isn't the same as high quality pump I had previously. Secondly the spec on the pump says "Transfer rate up to 2400 gallons of liquid per hour; Max suction height of 32 ft; ". In actuality it is not self-priming, and has a suction height of 0 feet. It also says it is only for Above Ground Pools, so that is the accurate bit, not its suction height. So I found a table with current and HP for the different pumps: XP75034 has 1.5hp at 230V and 15A, and XP75038 has 1.5hp at 230V and 7.5A. Oops How could the two pumps have the same HP and have one draw half the power? At this point, I gave up with this brand, and went back to a quality brand I trust. If the quality of these pumps is a low a the quality of the documentation, beware. I'm returning mine. ... show more

  • Great little pump
I have a 12 x 24 above ground pool. Pump is perfect for that size. Good flow, quiet, easy to install and maintain. Lot easier on my generator that the larger pump.

  • Perfect for my 24ft pool with QS1200 Intex Saltwater system
Perfect for my 15,000 gallon pool with QS1200 Intex Saltwater system. Hooked it up this weekend. This pump prevents the low flow error on my salt system as the first pump was too weak at .35hp. And the second pump, although strong at 1.5hp worked great for circulation, but pumped way more GPH (gallons per hour) than the salt system was happy with. This pump's GMH is within, and at the higher end of, what was needed for the salt system I bought to work properly. Over 48 hours running and working well together ... show more

  • 0.45 HP vs 0.75HP... Advertising is wrong.
If you look at the advert for this product it shows a .75 HP motor but the pump shows .45 HP THP on the top of control box. Odd choice to limit the motor to .45HP but advertise it as 3/4. Technically yes. Its a 3/4 HP motor but that's NOT what your getting. Anyway. This is the second one I've gotten. We thought the old on we had died last summer after a lightning storm blew our GFCI outlet and then it the motor wouldnt turn over. Turns out that it had just sat for too long. Brought it in and manually turned it over and it started right back up. Pulled THIS one in for the winter and just reinstalled it. Didn't work so we put the old on back on. Brought this one in and gave it a manual turn over. Again. Started right up. I guess I'm good to go on pool pumps for a few years... Its cheap but works fairly well for a small Intex pool. Just don't believe that its a .75HP system. ONLY the motor is rated for .75. They REALLY should fix that. ... show more
