This is the same pump and motor as the discontinued Splapool pump. Looked everywhere for another pump to replace the pump I installed 2 years ago , not to be found on Amazon or even a web site when googled. So Im looking through pumps on Amazon and find the same pump by another name brand. the only difference is added circuit protection on motor. This motor runs better and also has a better flow from pump housing . Wired right up and bolted to housing. Why would Amazon not tell you this or Splapool is either dishonest or lack of concern for customer. Hopefully this one last longer than 2 years. ... show more

This product is not in working order we sent an hour attaching the cord and connecting it to the pool only to find out that it only has one working speed. The whole reason I bought it was because it was a two speed it is now the end of the summer and my pool was starting to turn green so I had no choice but to keep it attached to the pool so that my kids can continue to swim for the rest of the summer I will be saving up this winter for a good quality pool pump and not purchasing it from this company totally disappointed in the money I spent on this please customers don't waste your money it is not a working product ... show more

    • Not a powerful pump.
The media could not be loaded. Very easy to install. My previous pump was a single speed Century brand pump. Until it died it did a great job. This two speed pump is much weaker though. On the low speed it hardly moves any water. On the high speed it is still has much less pressure than my old pump which was also a 1.5hp pump. To the point where I am not sure if it will keep enough water flowing through my saltwater generator. The low speed setting will be totally useless for me. I am even concerned it may not be sufficient for the vacuum. ... show more

    • It is quiet, was easy to install
Other than the fact the end cap where you connect your wires to motor had a screw missing to attach end cap to motor body, and the other ear that screw screws into being totally broken of the body, the motor runs quiet. I had to tywrap the end cap to the motor body, should have seen that when i took it out the box and the end cap was not attached to motor. Figured you had to take it off anyway to wire up. had it all wired and in place before the last thing i had to do was attach end cap to find out what i just said, wasn't very happy. ... show more

    • Unit does not pump the volume of water described in specifications.
This 1 1/2 hp unit does not pump half the water my old 1 hp motor did. I would return it but the installer threw away the shipping box. I would never recommend this unit. I have a fountain connected and it will not produce 1 pounds of head pressure my old pump would shoot 1/2 inch stream 6 feet in the air. More Chinese junk. ... show more

    • Pump lasted six months and burnt up
My pump worked for 6 months and started smoking so severely that I was nervous to go near it. I turned the power off to the house waited for it to cool and then turned it off. The seller appeared to be responsive to my concerns but we have not received any correspondence for over a month. I just ordered a new pump. I am very disappointed with the product, but grateful I didn’t lose my house. Maybe a defective item? Hard to tell without feedback from seller or calling an electrician. ... show more

I installed this pump and it has been running for about two weeks. It is relatively quiet and pumps well. I’m very satisfied with the price and performance. Standard PVC fittings screw into the inlet and outlet of this pump. I used 2” pipe.
