I used plenty of scan tools throughout the years, and this xTool IP919 MAX has exceeded my expectations. It's fast, easy to navigate, and has more features than most high-end scanners. One thing that really stands out is that it can read manufacturer specific codes that don't even turn on the check engine light. That alone helped me track down a problem that I would've never found with most of the other scanners. Being able to see all the live data and run active tests saved me a lot of time. And it's J2534 compliant so you can use the VCI box to program modules. I've been using it on my Duramax, and it's been great for watching fuel rail pressure, injector data, and other engine information while diagnosing an intermittent issue. The live data updates quickly, and the scanner has worked exactly as advertised. For the money, I think it's hard to beat. If you're tired of expensive scan tools that can't do it all, this is a huge step up. I definitely don't regret buying it and would recommend it to anyone. Repairs By C-Top

The IP919MAX is the top of the line scan tool from XTool and it did not disappoint me. I came from a 3 year old D8BT which I really like, but I wanted a J2534 interface. What a difference! This tool is FAST! It reads the OBDII bus in seconds. It opens diagnostic modes, tests, bi-directional controls almost instantly. There's no waiting. It has every function that I need. I brought over my friends house who has two new Porsche and an Audi. He was looking for a scan tool that he could use to reset and look at the oil levels in his cars when changes the oil. There are many, if any, tools that do these functions. Usually, only the dealer can do these functions. Guess what? The IP919 scan tools can. Based on my previous experience with the xTool engineering support team, they will go out of their way to help you out and add functions if they don't exist and they can do it. They really stand behind their tools and you. That goes a long way with me. I work in automotive research and development. Their engineering team tools have never let me down. The screen is bright and crisp. The tablet very sturdy. Well built. It has a nice aluminum foldout leg on the back that allows it to hang on the steering wheel. The OBDII interface houses the J2534 interface. I believe that is the difference between the MAX, and the two lower models. You can always buy the interface with the J2534 later on, but I think it'll cost. I bought the HD Boroscope. The battery life is about 6 hours. It has a real docking cradle.

This is a really well built and fast tool. The tablet has a really nice rubber grip and kickstand that comes in handy. The included charging dock is really great for always keeping the tool charged and ready with nice metal feet to keep it from tipping. Nice to see xtool didn't cut corners here. The scanner is very fast with great touchscreen response and fast refresh rates. Simply put, this is a great tool that comes in a nice case with a full set of connectors and a j2534 vci. All this and 3 years of updates makes the ip919 max a flexible and capable tool that provides great value and performance.
