Easy to use just get all the updates for it before you try to use it, I would buy it again I needed to get a key programmed for my car and it worked well. It will also scan the OBD2 also and let you know if you need anything fixed

After getting through the first couple of setup quirks, this thing has been awesome! I bought the D7 and this (IP616) to do a comparison and see which one I'd want to keep. After connecting to a Land Rover LR2, Ford F250, and Subaru Ascent, I quickly decided to keep the IP616. It has nearly the same functions as the D7, some of which I'll never use as a DIYer. It has lifetime updates, whereas the D7 is free for only 3 years then you have to pay for updates. It has a bigger battery than the D7. The only downfall I've seen so far is the construction of the IP616. The weight is heavier on the left side so it feels a bit lopsided. Also, the case is a but bulkier than the D7. Both of which are really just personal observations that others may not notice. I was able to successfully add 2 new keys for a Land Rover LR2 with this tool. I did not try on the D7, but that probably can do it too. But why spend more money when something cheaper can also get the job done! As for the Bi-directional functions of the D7, they are nice but as a person who doesn't work on cars for a living, these functions will be rarely, if ever, used. For the special functions, the D7 has these functions that the IP616 does not have: -Rain/Light Sensor -FRM Reset -Speed Limit -SRS Again, nice to have but I probably won't ever use them. For the money and features included, the IP616 is the best bargin out there!

The scanner is a great tool to have in your garage. Quick to scan, and can check for a lot of things the cheaper units can't. This tool has saved me time from running to the local O'Reilly or AutoZone to get my vehicles scanned for the check engine light. If you're connected to Wi-Fi - you could also get the information on the code in the seat of your vehicle. If not, the codes gets saved to the tablet, and you can always look into it when you have the time to.

I bought IP616 a week ago. It is obvious that it performs better than the code reader I bought in the past. The biggest selling point of this product is the lifetime update and after-sales service. I believe that with continuous updates, IP616 will change. It is getting stronger and stronger. This is what I am most looking forward to. If you are a professional repairman, I suggest that you can buy a higher-level XTOOL product.

I had high hopes for this IP616. I painstakenly took the time to load ALPHA ODB for Dodge Trucks to it. At first I was impressed then it all went downhill from there. The battery died and now they want me send them a video of the issue. So they can see first hand what the problem is. I have been in the electronics industry for over 40 years and I know when there is a bad battery. You can only use the device when its plugged into a power source, completely defeating the reason for purchasing a device with bluetooth to communicate remotely with a bluetooth ODB II bluetooth device. Oh and look there, now the device is no longer available go figure. Chinese junk.
