I have a HE washing machine and only need 1-2 pods, as 3 over suds an average size washer. When I go to the local Laundry Mat to wash rugs & king-size quilts I use 3 pods in the XL machines. Works really well taking out food/oil/grease stains while being kind to your clothes (colors). I chose the Free & Gentle due to allergies. Seems to be pretty good for skin protection. These Tide pods do a great job cleaning clothes while being gentle on sensitive skin. I’ve used them on everything from everyday laundry to baby clothes with no irritation or strong scent — which is exactly what I wanted. However, I do feel like they sometimes struggle with very tough stains unless I pre-treat them. Also, for larger loads, I often need to use two pods to get a fully clean result, which means the 81-count doesn’t last as long as expected. Still, they’re reliable, easy to use, and excellent for people who want fragrance-free, hypoallergenic detergent. Just wish the stain-fighting power was a bit stronger. I have been impressed with tide free and gentle so far.
