As an ASE-certified technician, I’ve used many diagnostic tools over the years, and the D6S stands out as a well-rounded option for both professionals and serious DIYers. The touchscreen is exceptionally responsive bright, clear, and easy to navigate. One of the first things I noticed was how quickly it performs AutoVIN recognition and begins scanning vehicle systems. This tool provides OE-level diagnostics across all modules, including powertrain, ABS, SRS, HVAC, and transmission, allowing for deep and accurate troubleshooting on a wide range of vehicles. Live data functionality is robust, with the ability to graph up to four PIDs simultaneously. This is particularly helpful when diagnosing more complex issues like intermittent stalling or fuel trim discrepancies. The ability to save diagnostic reports and email or print them later is a great feature for shop workflows or sharing with customers. Where the D6S really shines is in its suite of over 30 maintenance functions many of which are typically only found in much more expensive tools. I was able to perform crankshaft position relearn, idle relearn, A/C actuator calibration, and even adjust tire size. It also supports advanced functions like transmission adaptation, throttle body relearn, injector coding, ABS brake bleed, and electronic parking brake reset. For many users, this could eliminate the need for costly dealership visits for common resets and calibrations. The XTOOL D6S is a feature-rich scan tool that delivers exceptional value. This scanner is amazing and valuable for the price, it has a lot of functions. The screen has the right size and very robust feature set. It is worth to mention that live data and graphics make easy to detect failures easily on every car I tested. The connectivity is pretty simple and will make diagnosis in a short time (less than 1 min.)

Ordered this unit to compare to my other full feature and more expensive diagnostic tools, as a more economical and portable unit. While smaller in size and price, the D6S still has a very robust feature set, and seemingly is even easier to use and understand, especially for the hobbyist/enthusiast. For most users, the D6S will dig further in depth then most need or can understand, especially when compared to similarly priced units. The D6S still has the majority of the resets and special functions most commonly used like its full feature big brother versions, while also still including very useful features such as live data graphing, report saving, and lifetime updates. There is not much to complain about with this unit, especially for the price, easily worth every penny it will save you. The only thing I encountered with this unit is to remember to turn the unit it off completely after use, else the battery will go dead. However the battery life is incredible and hard to kill completely even if you do forget, and charges up quickly anyways.

Customer Review: I bought this product for my husband, but unfortunately, he had issues with the device shortly after using it. I strongly recommend ensuring that it comes with a 3-year warranty—because you’ll likely need it. I’m very dissatisfied with this purchase and would not recommend this brand to anyone. Additionally, be aware that they do not accept returns in certain countries, which makes the experience even more frustrating.

I've been putting this XTOOL D6S scanner through its paces on my 2007 Jeep Commander, 2008 Ford Focus, and my 2015 Nissan Altima - and holy cow, this little gadget delivers! Crisp touchscreen that actually responds like your smartphone Real-time data that mechanics charge $100 just to look at (RPM, temp, voltage - you name it!) 🔋 Battery life that lasts for hours 🚦 Fixes check engine lights like a magic wand (goodbye dealership upcharges!) Works like a charm on both my older rides and newer models No BS real talk "I was skeptical at first, but this thing's saved me at least $600 in shop fees already. My buddy's a mechanic and even he was impressed with this tool but even more with it’s capabilities and the accuracy for such a good price 🛠️ Build quality that feels premium, no cheap plastics here Performs like scanners 3x its price (seriously, compare the specs!) Easy to use! you dont have to be an space x engineer to use it 😉 Final verdict: If you're tired of getting ripped off at repair shops, just buy this already. 5/5 stars - would give it 6 if I could!

It does not do what it says it can do. It will not learn or program new keys. I emailed their support and never received an answer.

The media could not be loaded. Good little tablet style scanner with bi-directional capability. Easy wifi setup, feels solid, good battery life etc. Many special program items which can save you a lot of money at the garage. I really appreciate the form factor on this, its quite a bit easier to use based on its weight and size, feels a lot more portable. I added a video about a particular live telemetry item i use pretty frequently. It's very neat to see the data in the graph. If you're on the fence about buying and xTool, do it, i did and havent looked back yet!
