This is my third Xtool scanner and I'm impressed with its overall quality and usefulness. The app is easy to download and install on my Android phone and with automatic updates I don't have to worry about searching for the latest software update. Really simple to get started and scan my car's multiple systems. The scanner is small enough to remain connected to the OBD port under the dash all the time without interfering with anything else. The app's phone dashboard interface is very useful and provides instant relevant information. The scanner quickly identifies OBD faults, advising me as to where the fault lies and lets me easily clear the fault and reset the check engine light. I am especially impressed with the in-depth scan results. I've used the scanner on multiple Mercedes, a Toyota, and a Hyundai. Each time the scanner is switched between vehicles, it needs to be re-paired to the phone which takes a few seconds and it would be nice if it would remember the last few vehicles scanned. However, in every vehicle it identified multiple stored errors in systems that I didn't even know were there, some important, some not so important. In my opinion, the in-depth scanner function makes the purchase worth it. Now I can see stored faults, in systems other than OBD, and clear them as needed. Before this could only be done by a dealership or mechanic with a high-end scanner. I recommend this scanner to anyone who wants to know more about identifying and resolving hidden system faults within a car's multiple systems. ... show more

This scanner is a very good option for people who are looking for a versatile and affordable tool to quickly diagnose your engine light and other problems you may be having with your car. It even does battery load testing and can be left in the car's OBD port to provide real-time diagnostics while driving. I did have one small problem. The scanner uses an App on your smart phone and pairs via blue tooth. I changed my phone with-out unpairing the device and on the new phone it would not let me pair. I was getting the error “Device has already been bound by others”. I sent an email off to Tech support and they were extremely quick to respond and provide a solution to correct this problem. ... show more

As a car DIY enthusiast, I own an XTool A30M as a semi pro level scan tool, which helped me solve a lot complicated repair issues. However I don’t always need the full power scan tool, and this light duty AD20 serves me very well. The dongle looks just like any other generic Bluetooth OBD II reader, but where XTool shines is the app. The Advancer AD20 app connects very fast, the interface is quite user friendly. Not only does it read trouble code, I/M readiness, smog check like everyone else, it also check a lot more systems in the car, check battery health and read ton of live data. The Bluetooth connectivity of this tool makes it very convenient to use without the need for a wired connection to the OBDII port. It's nice that it can be connected continuously, and also provides a virtual dashboard on my smartphone. The menu system is very well laid out and easy to navigate. The data displayed is not cryptic like some other tools I've used. It provides autoscan functionality as well as manual measurements, and it's nice to be able to choose what live data registers are displayed. I'm pretty impressed at how feature packed this unit is. I used the product on 2007 Toyota Camry and 2007 Toyota Sienna . It is tiny scan tool for checking the error codes and checking health of your car using the iOS or Android app that you can download from the App Store, this can be very helpful to know what is going on with the vehicle if you get a check engine before you take it to a mechanic. it also keeps track of your driving habits and make some recommendations.
