Less than a week review: XTERRA Fitness Folding Exercise Bike, 225 LB Weight Capacity It works well. It's quiet. Easy to assemble an hour or less with not much effort. Lightweight. Easy to move for storage since it's foldable. Good for small spaces. Bottom line-for the price (less than $100 flash deal) this is a good product. I buy from amazon just about everything I need. This is one of the best purchases since I really need something for legs circulations after sitting on desk for hours at home. Negative: the seat non-cushioned. Can be hard but for a few minutes of use it's not so bad.

I’m 5ft1 so keep that in mind, I’ve got short legs. I put this bike together in about 20 minutes, and barely glanced at the instructions more than once. I read others used a YouTube tutorial but I didn’t bother. I looked over the diagram afterwards to make sure I didn’t miss anything, and it was perfect. This thing is ridiculously quiet, I’ve owned this same exact model before (just left it for my brother when I moved out of our shared apartment) and this one was, well, the exact same. I put a lot of miles on the old one I had, and it stood the test of time. Hence, deciding to get the same one a second time. The only difference is that now I am pregnant& much heavier than I was before. Before, the seat was perfectly comfortable for very long periods of time. Hours, even. But I could only put 20 minutes on this thing before I really needed to get off and give my behind a rest 🥲 I did the poke test on the cushion& it really is soft& cushy, but it’s my weight that’s hurting my tushy 🤣 I anticipate after a few days of using the bike, I’ll feel more comfortable, and definitely after losing some weight after baby comes soon. I’m still well under the weight limit, but my body is NOT AT ALL used to the weight that’s now added to my frame just in the past few months, so I’m 99% certain that’s the only reason the seat is not comfortable for me. If you’re new to cycling, or you’ve recently added padding to your middle, you might find the same discomfort. But honestly I wouldn’t make that my breaking point. There’s really highly rated cushions on amazon& if you’re looking for a quiet, affordable, small bike, this is going to be the one. Just add a seat cushion to your cart if you think you’ll benefit (~$20 or less) & buy it. Overall, the silence& compactness of the bike are the selling points for me at this price point. It’s gonna get cold soon, plus I’m pregnant like I said so I need low-impact, accessible, safe exercise options. Sometimes I’m up before dawn and want to workout. My NOISY AS HECK treadmill will wake up not only my husband, but everyone in the apartment below us too 😅 BUT… this bike will NOT wake up even someone in the same room, guaranteed. That’s a bit deal for me& will be appreciated once baby is here too. I also set up my adjustable-height desk to go over my handlebars so I can easily work on my laptop. I can thank the small size of the bike for that. I read other reviews that said if you have long legs, then pass on this bike, but I wouldn’t know anything about that. I’ll also say that if you’re shorter than 5ft1, it MIGHT be kinda hard to use. Cuz I’m really feeling like I’m at the lowest comfortable height limit even tho it says 4ft10. Anyway, for $130 it’s really a great option if you’re looking for quiet, compact, ease of assembly, good for shorter/smaller people. I really am glad to have this bike again.

Would give 5 stars, but the carcinogenic chemicals are a major concern. First, I will focus on the product & go into the cancer warning and what I found in my research (including "high-buck" bikes on market). Long discussion broken into sections if you’re looking for something specific! Product Discussion: I think it's great; It will definitely do the job. Very easy to assemble! I like that it's easy to move around and can fold up, very convenient. It's pretty quiet, too! Seems sturdy, the seat is wider making it more comfortable for longer exercise time. I plan to use this at least 5x per week so if anything changes I will update then. I can reach comfortably.. actually it is better than most I've used in a gym (I am 5'1" [120lbs] and my fiance is 5'11" [175lbs] both of us had no issues; he used to cycle for many years and says only thing is the pedals seem to be slightly out of alignment [a bit too forward], something I don't notice as I am no cyclist). Overall, great value. Cancer Discussion: First question I had, "I thought 'cheaper' bike so 'cheaper' quality? Based on my research, this is false. This is not the only bike brand or exercise equipment to contain toxic chemicals (i.e., NordicTrack, Trek, Peloton). While I was assembling the bike, I could absolutely smell some sort of chemical. Eventually, I stopped smelling it close to finishing assembly (known as habituation) and when I gave it a test run, or pedal, for a few minutes I began to smell it again and actually got a headache from this. There are definitely plastics on it outgassing (plastic piece covering belt area in front). ALL plastics outgas no matter what. Please be aware if you do not smell anything, I guarantee you this does NOT mean chemicals are being released, some people have more sensitive olfactory systems. You do not have to ingest something for it to be toxic, we can simply inhale harmful carcinogens unfortunately. Potential Toxins Discussion: On Xterra’s website, they mentioned Toluene (which possibly caused my headache) and Acrylamide (linking website at end). Additionally, I have come across other POTENTIAL carcinogens through research (epa.gov): Cadmium (commonly used to manufacture pigments and batteries and in the metal-plating and plastics industries) so perhaps this is on the bolts used to secure pieces together with the metal plates? Butadiene (commonly synthetic rubbers, polychloroprene [i.e., Neoprene], and nitrile rubber) and Butadiene evidently has a pronounced cancerous effect on women than on men because it interacts with estrogen receptors. Perhaps this is inside the plastic covering with the gears? Toluene (which possibly caused my headache, is commonly used in polymers to make plastic soda bottles, nail polish, gasoline for improved octane ratings, and paint solvents for example) I wonder if this is coated on the entire bike structure? Lastly, Nickel Carbonyl (commonly used in films, coatings, stainless steel, machinery parts, and batteries) and perhaps used as a coating? Regardless, this really is disheartening – we all are trying to improve our health while inadvertently harming it. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I placed the bike to outgas in my garage (intuition, not sure if will allow chemicals to vaporize). I didn’t have high hopes/expectations for this exercise bike, especially for the price. I wanted to buy my husband a Peleton for Christmas last year but for the price I couldn’t justify it. We’re pretty lazy but my hubby likes exercise bikes. We don’t have a lot of room & not being convinced this would ever get used by anyone other than my kids (who love to get on it for 12 seconds to see how fast they can get the speedometer up to) I basically picked this one for two reasons; it’s super affordable & it’s portable (aka easy to pack up & hide after a week of feeling guilty about looking at it but not using it). It came on time & adequately packaged. My 14 year old son put it together in a few minutes without any complaints. It really is quite compact & it is super easy to move around. I’ve used it two or three times & it’s quiet & sturdy. It has a screen with the speed, time of workout, calories burned etc but when I started my Apple Watch at the same time as the bike & kept by hands on the bike’s sensors the caloric burn was not even close at the end of a 20 minute ride. But I don’t care. The levels of resistance on the bike are easily changed with just the turn of a dial. I use it on 1 & 2 mostly. It’s super quiet, super portable, relatively sturdy (I’m 135lbs & I felt completely safe on it) & a fantastic deal. We use it on tile floors. And for the price it has already paid for itself in comedic relief. My two youngest teen boys (12 & 14) love to get on it & pedal as fast as they can to see who can get the fastest speed. They do this pedaling forward & backward; it’s hysterical. If you’re in the market for something like this, this one is a solid choice. I read reviews on this & others for about a week before deciding on this one & I’m completely satisfied with my purchase. And guess what?! My hubby has even used it!!

I was unsure about purchasing an exercise bike online but after reading the great features of this bike as well as the many positive reviews I went with it & I’m very happy I did. What a great bike. I was very impressed. This was a quick assemble once out of the box. It’s nice looking & folds up nicely if you want it out of the way. It makes very little noise. The seat is very comfortable & is a good size which contributes to the comfort level. I like the feature to tighten up the pedaling to a more difficult ride when exercising. The location of this knob is perfect as it can be adjusted when I’m riding the bike. The pedals also have a nice feature which allows me to strap them perfectly to my foot. Some bikes don’t have that feature. As far as the console there are 5 buttons all of which provide excellent information. The SCAN button allows me to rotate through the other 4 buttons if I wish to do so as I exercise or I can just keep my focus on one particular button. The other 4 buttons are: time, speed, distance & calorie. Once I stop I can scan through to look at my complete workout. If you keep your hands on a particular area on the handle bar while you exercise your pulse will be provided. I chose to provide this information because I was looking for more a more detailed review that would be helpful to me aside from what the description of the bike had to say. There is a 1 year limited warranty. There’s a registration card to mail. Overall for the price I received exactly what I wanted in an exercise bike. I’m typically a walker but the weather doesn’t always allow that so this bike gives me a good cardio session if needed. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for something simple & easy to use.

I’ve had this exercise bike for a couple days now and so far, it does the job. It’s fairly inexpensive for an exercise machine and I feel you can’t really beat the price on this. As I mentioned, I’ve had it for a couple of days and so far these are the things I’d like to point out. Pros: - SUPER quiet, and I mean SUPER quiet. I use it while my newborn is sleeping near me, and it doesn’t wake him up. It very literally doesn’t make any noise at all. - Extremely EASY assembly. It took me maybe 10 minutes to put it together. - Great option if space in your home is limited. Good for people who live in apartments/condos. - Adjustable tension control. - Price. Like I mentioned above, you can’t beat the price on this thing. It gets the job done! Now for the CONS: - I don’t have many bad things to say about this bike except for the seat. I find the seat to be pretty freaking uncomfortable. I actually have a sore behind from using the bike the past couple of days. Maybe it’s just a me thing or maybe I just need to get used to it. But for now, the seat really hurts my bum. Overall, I think this was a great purchase and would suit beginners or just anyone who doesn’t have a lot of money to be throwing for exercise equipment but want to begin their weight loss journey. I have been enjoying it and it really does what it’s intended to do. I’m looking forward to continuing to workout with it.

I picked this up because I've definitely gained some covid quarantine weight but I'm not comfortable going back to a gym while we're in the middle of another wave. Are we in wave 2, an extended wave 1 or wave 3? Who knows anymore! :( I liked that this is cheap, easy to assemble, and doesn't take up a lot of space. My husband put this together in about 15-20 minutes and it only took him that long because he was distracted and watching youtube videos while putting it together. This is a truly basic exercise bike, but it gets the job done. I like that it's very lightweight, but doesn't feel flimsy when you're on it. I can easily move it around the room, or through the house with no issue. I'm 5'5 and my husband is around 5'8 and we're both able to comfortably use this machine. The movement in the pedals is very smooth. The digital display is nice as well. The only pseudo negative is that this isn't super compact even in the "folded" position. The "folded" position only slightly shrinks the footprint so if you think this will turn into a super slim machine when not in use, not so much. Still, for the really affordable price, easy setup, and the fact that it's a great way to burn some calories and work off excess weight.
