    • Perfect upgrade for Andersen 3000 series doors!
We installed two Andersen 3000 series screen doors (the self-storing half-screen w/glass type), a black one for the front and a white one for the back door. Love the Andersen doors BUT the closer they include doesn't open to a full 90 degrees!?! No idea why not but it was driving me insane so I got this as a replacement. The Andersen has the nice foot-activated lock switch to hold the door open...whereas this one has the old fashion tab you have to slide. The foot tab is convenient but not opening to a full 90 degrees is a deal breaker so the stock closer had to go. I already had the Andersen closers installed so I just removed the two pins and inserted this new closer using the pins included in the package. Took some minor adjusting of the pneumatic part (loosen the screw at the end so it closes a little quicker) and it works great! Just an FYI - there are two holes on the tip of the closer and the directions indicate one is for a glass door and to use the other for a screen door. I found the hole labeled for the screen door worked better and was easier to adjust to the door latches shut at the end. I didn't use the brackets that came with this (already had the Andersen brackets installed) but I will say they seemed kinda cheap/weak compared to the brackets that were included with the Andersen door. Still gets 5 stars though since it's advertised as a "standard-duty" closer and the brackets probably would have worked fine anyway. Now the doors open a full 90 degrees (just past 90 actually, maybe 100 degrees) and I'm happy! ... show more

I recently installed this Wright Products screen and storm door closer on my door, and I’m very happy with it. The installation was quick and straightforward — the instructions were clear, and everything lined up perfectly. Once installed, the operation is smooth and noticeably quiet.     • Best upgrade to my front door.
Didn't realize how bad my front door's piston was. This was a MAJOR upgrade from the oem closer that came with the door. Door closes nice and smooth, there isn't much sway (when the door hits the piston and goes back and forth), and door closes fully and latched.

    • Easy Installation Great Performance!
I had been looking for a latch for my 2 homemade screen doors. I picked this one because it said it would fit doors 5/8” to 1- ¼” door. I have had problems with my door blowing open with the wind even though it had a spring loaded flip over latch (which was quite noisy when it closed.) The instructions for the Push Button Latch set were detailed enough that I had no problem installing it using the template. The plunger is the only thing that had to be shortened to fit a narrow door. I found the easiest way to shorten it was by using a pair of side cut pliers. The instructions do tell you how much to cut off by using a measuring tape and how to do it. It also has a flip lock which works smoothly. With the latch, I also bought a Wright Products V920BL STANDARD DUTY PNEUMATIC CLOSER, BLACK. Amazon product B000CRHYK0. The door closer was also very easy to install using the detailed instructions included. With the combination of the 2 items my door now stays closed and closes much more quietly. Since the first one worked so well I purchased a second for my other door and installed it. We are very pleased with the easy installation and the performance of both the latch and the door closer. ... show more

Wright Products V920BL Standard Duty Pneumatic Closer, Black. Our 22-year old pneumatic door closer stopped working. I purchased this one to replace the old one. There slots in the fittings for the attachment screws so that you have a bit of play in the placement. It fit perfectly in the place where the old one was. I didn't even have to drill any new holes! Things are seldom go so smoothly. It took about 5 minutes to install included getting out the screw driver. It was not expensive, is very sturdy, works perfectly. I'm thrilled! ... show more

    • Light weight door only
This would be good for a 30lb door. My swing glass door is about 50-60lbs and has bent the metal rod of the door closer. It also does not slow the door down enough to keep it from slamming. If you have a heavy door do not get this.

Bolted right up to an existing failed spring. Replacement took about a minute and is working perfectly.
