The machine is certainly powerful and really does the job. However, I noticed my battery life is not as long as thought. I get about 45 minutes before I am down to just two lights. Also, the machine is a bit heavier then I was expecting. Overall, I would say that it does very well.

Now I’m on my 3rd. Eater. I plain down love my works, light weight easy to run and it powers right through the tall grass. Would not use anything else. Great quality for the money. My wife has trouble starting the gas powered trimmer, so I bought this trimmer for her to use. She loves it. It is a bit long for her. We have only used it a few times. But so far, it has been great. I have always had a gas trimmer and never thought a battery trimmer would be powerful enough or have enough battery life. While this trimmer is not as powerful as my gas trimmer and does not last as long on a single charge versus tank of gas, I am very impressed with it. I find myself using it more than the gas trimmer. It only takes an hour to charge the batteries with the double battery charger. There is no hassle or mess with the gas can or starting the trimmer. It cuts the high grass with ease and the batteries are lasting long enough to cut a lot of grass. I still use my gas trimmer when cutting back growth of heavy dense weeds/plants in the woods. ... show more

UPDATE less than 2 months later: I've only used it 4 times since I bought it in April. It's now June and it stopped working! I charged the batteries, put them in the unit then went outside to use it. I squeezed the trigger and it came on but, as soon as I put it down to the grass, it cut off. I raised it up, released the trigger then squeezed it again and it came on. As soon as I put it down to the grass, it went off again! I don't have time for this Worx! Now I've lost even more time trying to get through to their warranty people! I'll take another unit if they offer it or else I'll take a refund. A very nice unit, easy to assemble, fairly light weight, the battery run time is very good and they charge up quickly but (IMO) it needs 2 minor improvements: 1) Each time I start the motor it feeds out an inch or so of line. I have to keep the unit running to prevent this. 2) The actual line feed button works intermittently. Each time I press it, it stops the motor from turning then it starts again but sometimes I have to press it 2 or 3 times to get the line to feed out. Not always but often. And I HATE the trigger release safety button. It is very inconvenient to have to press it every time I want to start the motor. I'm not a child so make it with a way to lockout that feature. The head adjusts easily to whatever angle I want and, although it isn't as light as I thought it would be, a shoulder strap would have been nice. The removable wheels work very nicely for edging. Just make sure to adjust the head to be perfectly in line with the main shaft or you won't be able to see where you're edging. Overall this is a great product! It could easily be a 5 star item if the line feed issue was fixed. ... show more

    • Durable trimmer but heavy and fatiguing to use

Owned for over a year - durability of the components are good, but with 2 batteries loaded, the unit is heavier than most, and fatigue sets in after a while of use. Good battery life with twin 20V batteries loaded onboard. The automatic line spool feeder doesn't auto-feed well, and using anything other than OEM line spools tends to result in a lot of stopping and reloading of spool line through the feed hole in the spool housing. The manual Command Feed feature has to be used constantly to stop the line from disappearing. I found it is not easy to switch between trimming mode and edging modes - sort of user safety overkill in the way it is designed if you want to add the edger wheels onboard before edging - I am used to the old Black & Decker string trimmers where you can effortlessly twist the stalk back and forth between trimming and edging modes in real time as you move about the lawn area. Setting of the trimmer angle is kind of weird - you step on the spool guard and bend the stalk down (which feels like you're going to break the unit). I'll use it until it dies, but Worx needs to do better and come up with a lighter more user-friendly design. ... show more
