I have siding on my house. I received a second generation Ring doorbell as a gift. The bracket that comes with the doorbell, is intended for a flat surface. To create a flat surface for the doorbell, I needed an additional bracket to accommodate the slanted siding, and give me a flat surface to mount the ring bracket and doorbell to. This bracket is well-made, and is shaped correctly to mount on siding, for the doorbell. What makes it frustrating, is the screw holes. They are perfectly aligned for the Ring doorbell, but the holes are too small for the screws provided with the doorbell. It’s important do use the screws provided with the doorbell, in order not to void any warranty. Finding the right drillbit, and the right drill, to drill into the bracket, making the holes large enough to fit Rings provided screws. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right, drill & drill bit. Once I got the holes drilled out, everything went together perfectly. This bracket does provide a sturdy mount for the doorbell.

As others said, the screw hole sizes are horribly small. I also attempted drilling and jacked it up- but I shouldn’t have had to alter a ready made product. Now I have stripped screws, a screwed up bit and a hunk of junk. I’m returning this because it should be made better based on others’ comments.

A single-piece product designed to create adequate spacing between a home or building’s vinyl siding and the mounting bracket for a video doorbell so that, once it is mounted, it's oriented straight up and down (plumb) rather than angled up toward the sky. This particular product was ordered as many of the other mounts I saw specifically mention Ring doorbells and I'm not using a Ring doorbell (although I did buy the video-doorbell on Amazon), However, this siding-angle adjustment mount does not align with my non-Ring doorbell, as the holes between the two items don’t line up. My goal was to mount the doorbell and not damage the siding by screwing into the siding directly. It seems to be possible to modify the mount to attach to a vinyl siding hook fairly easily. Unfortunately, the trick became finding a way to attach the doorbell to the mount such that the screw holding the mount to the hook didn't interfere with the doorbell. Rather than continue to drill holes in this mount, I used double-sided tape instead for installation.

The four screws to connect the intermediate plate to this mount were too long for the two lower wholes, and generally a bit too thick, making it very hard to drill them into the plastic and not destroy the screw heads. That said, the end result is pretty much exactly what I was looking for - a solid block, firmly mounted to the house, and offsetting the panel angle so that the camera sees what we want to see (not the sky :)
