Update: changed my review from a 2 star to 1 star. Only had it for 6 days and the run is already breaking. The tops on the run have already gotten stuck and now cracked when you open it. So disappointed. I’m literally going to have to find another coop and spend more money because this one won’t last much longer. It’s cute but I’m so upset that I just wasted all this money. Very cheap. Original post after putting together: The wood was splitting when you put the screws in. One of the pieces of metal that the lock goes into was already broken when it came and a board was cracked. We still used it but I’m not sure how long it’ll hold up. The roof was already damaged too. Disappointed. The plastic bottom isn’t going to hold up for long. We will see how long it lasts before we have to purchase something different. We added an extension runner to it. ... show more

Very beautiful, requires 2 people to build. not super sturdy, but it does the job. I recommend changing the instructions for ease of building.

    • Do not buy! Wood completely broken with pieces missing.

First off, the wood was falling apart in so many areas. The lid to the nesting box area was missing an entire wood section that connects it to the chicken coop. The wood was also extremely rough to the touch and a completely different color from the pictures. Don’t waste your money. Wish I could return it but it requires the original box to return it in and my husband got rid of it too soon. ... show more

Poorly made several wooden pieces were split beyond the ability to function properly You have to open the box and inspect each piece. Separate erpacking the box is almost imposible

Good news: Great cedar smell. Took like an hour to get together. Honestly houses like 6-7 smaller chickens. Bad news: *Solidly the flimsiest wooden thing I've ever dealt with in all my years. I *had to* use wood glue in a number of areas to get the screws to work, at all. * finished the build with a fair bit more spare parts than maybe I should have.... * that plastic bottom tray was off-putting to the chickens Not a bad little kit, but I suggest looking for something more robust. ... show more

Other than the wood being a little brittle and weak, it’s actually really good! I have had to reinforce all around the bottom with hardware cloth because there’s a gap all the way around it so anything, predator wise, can get in the run.
