This works okay, the wood I have is extremely dense so it is hard to cut. This seems to work okay for splitting once you get it going. It does need to be bolted down or attached to something as you will need to beat the hell out of the wood to get it to split.

This worked well for smaller circumference wood (4” or less) although I found it to be more efficient to use an axe for anything larger.
